Title: [wts] Duck Mini v2 Case
Post by: Joebroniee on Tue, 11 August 2015, 15:43:40
{SOLD!} {SOLD!} {SOLD!}

Hey guys,looking to sell my Duck Mini v2 case. Took me ages to track one down and I've had it for about a year now, original color is red but I stripped it down and painted it platinum nickle on the outside and primered grey on the interior where the keyboard sits. Comes with the riser bar in the rear, anodized red. Case is pretty much immaculate condition. Only reason to get rid of it is because I'm going to be moving on to a laptop for space concern's, need more room for the baby. Fit's most 60% keyboards. Selling for $180 shipped or shoot me some reasonable offer's. Paypal preferred and shipping only in the conUS.

It's nice to see someone not afraid to paint a custom case like this. Kudos to you. I just painted my Infinity keyboard's case and as long as it's done well, it's almost just as durable as anodizing. I'm wanting to redo my Duck Pad, but I am admittedly worried about how to strip all the anodization and paint over it.

Case is sold!

Another note, I've been painiting nearly for 10 years now, take your time and prep is the most important part for a great finish. To remove anodizing, just use easyoff over cleaner, spray on and wipe off when it starts to bubble. Depending on how raw your aluminum is it may need a 2000 grit sand to hold paint. Aways primer to create a durable surface for the paint to grab on. Easy thin coats and release the spray after each stroke to prevent drips. On this case it was 2 coats of primer, 5 coats of nickel. Let dry in between coats for 10-15 minutes and baked after letting it dry over night.

If you shop around locally, in any large city you can find a lot of small shops that will reanodize it in alot of cool colors. I had a KMAC case reanodized for $30 a few years ago.

I needed a finish to match my ncase itx build, this was the only viable option.
