Title: cherry mx slilent question
Post by: Notorious on Wed, 12 August 2015, 18:54:16
I know there isn't a lot of information out there yet about these switches but I had a question if anybody happens to know

the youtube ad made it look like the led was built into the switch, is this really the case? using some of the smallest leds available and with some contacts I can see this as being plausible. I really hope so, so I can add some backlight love onto my Filco Convertible 2

Nope, the LED's are either under the switch (in the case of the RGB ones, SMD ones mounted on the PCB) or mounted in the normal way (3mm LED with leads through the switch). The only difference to "normal" MX switches is the slider.
