I just desoldered the Caps Lock LED from my Pok3r, with the hopes of putting it in my escape key. I've soldered it in, but it (for obvious reasons) isn't working. Is there any way to mess with the firmware to get the esc key to light up?

There's always a way, but you would have to somehow grab the latest firmware and decompile it.
Rumor has it that when Vortex releases the LED version of the Pok3r, the firmware can be flashed onto the existing Pok3rs. You may want to wait till then.
I am not responsible for any issues that may arise from trying this, but you could also solder wires from where the caps lock LEDs are to the Esc key leds.

I don't know much on the poker 3 but for the poker II it was just drop the led in and work, are you sure the poker 3 has the diodes to use LED's? I didn't think they had them working with them yet?

That's actually a really good idea, but I think that would make it so it only turned on when capslock was on, and I also don't have even close to the confidence to do that.

Yeah, unfortunately the base firmware on the Pok3r does not support LEDs, however the board itself is totally physically set up for them.

I might actually mess around with this a bit.

Ahh right I know its not too helpful but do you think the poker II firmware might work or be helpful to you on getting the poker 3 working?

Are you suggesting flashing the 2 firmware onto the board? I'm not sure if that would work

Okay, it's happened so many times that I don't mind looking stupid.
You want an LED in your escape key to light up... - when?

All the time, but the board's stock firmware is LED-locked. I'm hoping I can find a way to change that, but it's not looking good.
