i'll take pictures later today if you guys want. I'm kind of curious how it works even though there's a screw stabbing through the cable. The response time seems to be fine and all the keys work, but it must be giving something up if there's a huge screw just stabbing through it right?

If the screw entirely misses all of the traces on the ribbon cable it wouldn't cause any problems at all. If it hits one (and only one) trace, it'd still probably work fine... the screw is conductive too. I'd certainly expect problems if it were shorting two traces.

I think if you attach back the Model M speaker to the grille you might get AM radio reception.

I realized that it just goes to the LED indicators so it doesn't really matter.
