Hello,
I am trying to pick out a different key switch to use in getting a new keyboard. I currently own a Noppoo Choc Mini with blues, a cooler master qfr stealth with browns.
On both of them I have red o-rings.
I recently acquired a WASD key switch tester, it has 6 switches, white, black, red, clear, blue, brown, and green.
The current cooler master brown keyboard has started to feel like it doesn't have enough bounce back to the keys.
In using the switch tester I've come to find that I like the clear and black. I've tried them out now both with and without o-rings in place.
Has anyone else found browns after a period of over a year to have less feedback and bounce back to the springs?
When I first got it, it seemed to be the best key switch I had used yet.
The only others I've tried looking into are topre, and matias, however, both of those sound like they either don't have enough bounce back or tend to be too lite.
Despite being a touch typist I still tend to bottom some keys out. Hence why I put o-rings in place on both of the boards I currently have.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you're trying to avoid bottoming-out, MX Clear is the only way to go. It's like they were designed specifically for that. It's the only switch I can type normally on and mostly avoid bottoming-out altogether.

So I guess it's up to your preference. If you like the tactile actuation, then probably clear, as suggested. Personally I'm starting to love heavy linears. Bouncy, no bottoming out and smooth like butter. I wanted to experiment and go with gateron blacks, not mx after reading good things about their linears.

I really like Matias Linears. I'm usually not a fan of linear switches but they feel really nice. Alps switches in general seem to have the best feel to me.

I'm not sure I'd call Matiases light, but if you do, try Alps. 70 g goodness :D .
