"René Girard is one of only 40 members, or immortels, of the Académie Française, France's highest intellectual honor.
Girard, 85, has produced book after book. His latest, Achever Clausewitz, created a firestorm in Paris when it appeared in 2007—the kind of conflagration only a public intellectual in France can ignite. French President Nicolas Sarkozy was citing his words, and reporters made pilgrimages to Girard's Paris doorstep day after day."
What kind of keyboard does René Girard use to crank out those words? Guess for yourself! See photo in the article:

My guess is that it is the cherry G84-4100, the spacing between keys looks smaller than usual.

hahaha, nope!
XD
good try, keep 'em coming.

Looks like a badly lit 1391401 or similar.
-
ooh, could be... but what makes you think so?
-
Yes, looks like it might be a badly lit Model M. The recessed ridges/channels on the left side and bottom edge of the keyboard are very M-like. Or perhaps one of the Keytronic keyboards that look similar to an M...

the keyboard also makes a brief appearance in a video on that page...
just after 1:00 :)

evidence is mounting... but how can you be sure? :)

The shape plus the font. Keytronics have a similar case, but different lettering.

YES, we have a winner!!
IBM used a heavy Helvetica for the Model M keycaps. Coupled with dye-sublimation printing, it shows up very clearly in the photo. A true IBM classic :)
Thank you for playing :D

hey if the M is good enough for french intellectuals then its good enough for typing out my snippy geekhack posts xD
What I like about the M is its nice to know that some tech products have had staying power. Its rare in the gadget world where technology turnover is like 3 years tops.
