Hi Everyone
I love my Cherry G80-3000 Blue Switch! But at times I find it a bit too resonating and pingy. The pronounced slant is also something to get used to when going from a scissorkey keyboard.
Realizing that I actually don't move my keyboard around that much, I took the dive and removed the PCB from the housing and placed in on a non-slip mat.
All above 'problems' have vanished and the keyboard still works like a charm. The PCB is chocolate brown and pretty negotiable.

V cool. I added sound dampening material to mine. Lots of breathing room in the g80. I'm waiting for someone to fill the whole thing with concrete!

I mentioned in another thread briefly, but never snapped pics. Maybe I'll open it up and post pics some day :)

I've been putting my keyboards on grip-mat material for a while now, but after clearing my desk I tried without - and I hated the sound. Even my Topre sounded bad! So the mat is back.
I like the idea of using the keyboard without the case. It would reduce the footprint of some boards quite a bit. I'd just make sure the cable is secured with a cable tie so it can't pull loose or damage the connector when pulled.

I'm not a fan of using heavy metals in the household - or anywhere else for that matter. A good keyboard feel is nice to have, but I wouldn't destroy an ecosystem for it
