Hey everybody, I'm searching for my first mecha Keybord (actually got Mac Keybord), but i don't realy know what i should take. The Shine 4 MX Red from Ducky seems good but the HHKB seems good too. I can't see someone that has the HHKB witch is not happy with it. But I'm french soo I'm using ISO Fr and i will need learn the Ansi Us even if i change the layout (or i'll may get new keycaps, but nothing is too expensive for the HHKB )
It would be for gaming and typing too
.Soo i don't know witch to choose, help me, Thnx

I would go with the Ducky as your first keyboard. The HHKB is nice, but due to the different layout, it may be inconvenient for first time Mechanical Keyboard users.
-
Thnx for the fast answer!
i'll get the HHKB a little later ;D

On the topic of layouts, if you need to change the layout anyway, I feel you should just go straight to HHKB, so you will only need to know 2 layouts, ISO Fr and HHKB (or HHKB-Jp if that is more similar to your current layout). Just take note of the arrow keys on the Fn layer. I'm used to them, but I sometimes wished I had dedicated arrows when doing spreadsheet work. Also nuances like I can't do the F1-F4 keys with one hand, so no easy Alt-F4 or Ctrl-F4.
The Shine 4 MX Red and HHKB are totally opposite in every possible way.
Cherry vs Topre
Linear vs Tactile
104 vs 60 keys
Backlit vs No Backlit
Standard ANSI vs HHKB layout
So you will need to see which features you are looking for after breaking down the differences.

Mhh i think maybe i should go on shine 4 and then grab a HHKB little later as said merlin64
What do think about this rabid?

HHKB
go for it, no regrets

HHKB now, so you won't need to bother with buying 10 other keyboards before you get to it.

Seems i need everybody recommand me HHKB, but is there any good keyset for HHKB in blue/grey with ISO Fr (or blank will need little time to get use to it)?

Two roads....
First road
Step 1: buy Ducky
Step 2: buy HHKB shorty after
Step 3: euphoria
Second road
Step 1: buy HHKB
Step 2: euphoria
All roads lead to HHKB

Like I previously mentioned, Shine 4 and HHKB are totally opposite keyboards, so there is no overlap between them, and its justifiable to eventually get them both. But as to your question, which one to get first, its totally a personal choice :)
Also you have to note that the HHKB does not have readily available after market key caps, and depending on how you look at it, it can be a boon as you reach end game and do not spend extra money customizing it. But if you do want to, you have the Hypersphere silencing rings, JT sliders, and key sets with HHKB mods, and you will be back to spending money once again. Also, if you do have a Japan proxy, do take note that the HHKB non-S can be bought off Amazon jp at ~$180usd.

Just get both ;)

I'll obv get both :)

Then hesitate no longer! :p

imo, the HHKB is mega overrated. So are duck boards.
Pick yourself up a cheap board instead, try it out and see what you like and dont. I Picked up a WASD Code 104 key thinking I wanted a full size board, but now I realize my perfect board is a 65% custom.
No matter what you do once you start, you cant have just one keyboard.

The poor OP sounds so confused because he wants two completely different keyboards with very different layouts.
Like choosing a Battleship then also choosing a Jap-made dinghy, very bizarre to say the least. First you need to get use to both layouts first before finally picking which one to stick to but then again you could be some sort of 'special person' that wants everything in the world in front of them.
The strange thing is, they could actually thrive in that type of environment......

@Hippo008 I take your advice :)
But the Ducky Shine 4 isn't soo expensive, only 150€ (In France) Vs 150$ on WASD ( btw i'm trying to creat a custom set for keybord on WASD and Inkscape ^^)
@Elrick It's exaclty that xd
The layout is finaly not a big prob if i take blanc keyset and that i change the layout (in my computer)
