Title: Crack OTL Headphone Amplifier w/ Speedball - $299 (Ends 9/17)
Post by: filphil on Wed, 16 September 2015, 20:07:00
I was waiting for another sale for this and it looks like this might be the last time this is under $300.  Hopefully some others pick this up as well.

We are doing one last "buy-a-Crack-for $279-add-a-Speedball-for-$20" sale. After this week long offer we will be increasing the price of the basic Crack kit to $299. The increase is necessary to cover the cost of some component upgrades - power supply caps and RCA jacks - that we have already incorporated into the kits for some time, but that we can't continue to subsidize.

We're running this special from today through next Thursday, September 17th. As usual, the sooner you order the higher up in the shipping queue your order will ship. This can make a difference in shipping of a week or even two depending upon how many orders we receive. In other words you might get your kit in three to four weeks if you order today vs. maybe six weeks if you wait until the end of the sale period.

OK, here's the link, get Cracking!

I love my crack with speedball. It's also fun to build if you're into that stuff. (Which you should be if you're into custom keyboards :D)

I bought one since I see it so highly recommended as a pairing to my hd650. Plus of I ever decide to upgrade to hd800 it apparently does well with those too. I'll have to see how I feel after building it though.

Did you go straight to the speedball or did you add it in after trying out the base Crack?

Straight to the speedball. I don't think you're supposed to but I felt good about it. They do work great with my 650s.
I also bought some new tubes for it, can't recall the names right now though.

What source do you use? I'm running an aune t1 but will probably pick up an odac with rca output.

Ummmm I'm not home so I can't check the model(been gone a few months) but it's an audio-GD that cost a pretty penny. The crack fits on top quite nice.
