Long story short, a friend of mine needs an ANSI layout scissor switch keyboard that has good rollover. If it's not NKRO, then could you test if SDC[space]MKL or some other set of seven keys in a similar arrangement goes through without any issues?
And yes, I did try to convince him to mechs but he prefers short travel over the feels.

Well, there's this (http://www.taiwantrade.com.tw/EP/digimore/products-detail/en_US/476954/Capacity_Gaming_Keyboard,_N-Key_Rollover/), but I don't know if any brand has ever picked it up. If not, your friend may have to buy 1000 of them and resell 999.

Hey, some scissor switches feel great!
Anyway, some revisions of Logitech K800/K740 had a pretty good matrix, but then Logitech intentionally ****ed them up to make people buy their G series keyboards for gaming. (I can test mine eventually, but I don't expect much from the K740, because it's the messed up version already.)
BTW Microsoft SideWinder X4 is discontinued, but still pops up here and there every now and then, and it's kinda semi-short throw dome (not scissor switch though) and effectively 17KRO.
