Title: [WTS] Mostly complete project board - Phantom/MX whites/modular plate
Post by: CalmB4tehPwn on Mon, 28 September 2015, 11:56:30
Hey guys!

I've been out of the world for far too long, but we just had our second kid and I have to take a long look at the things I own that would serve us better as cash in hand.

So today I'm offering up my project of a year ago.

I am interested in selling this as a whole, and do not want to part out. If I get interest in both the case, and the board/plate/switches then I'll sell as two lots, but for now it's all or nothing.

So let me tell you a bit about it!
White phantom board
Controller soldered on by JDcarpe
Beast modular plate (can remove switches without desoldering)
Cherry MX white switches
Vortex Cyan aluminum case (modified port in back)

I intended to install a jump cable from the controller to a mini USB female port in the back of the case, so you could use a removable USB. I never made it that far.

I really don't know what the going rate of any of this is anymore, so I'm going to undersell and call it $300. If prices have changed and I'm crazy and that's either way too high or way too low, feel free to let me know. I think it sounds fair.

And here's the beauty

Somebody must want this -almost complete- project board!

If this isn't a great deal, let me know. Seriously. Post below what you think a good deal on this keyboard would be.

What's the estimated shipping to US? my zip 38401

Are the white's modded or stock?

No offense, but your port mod in the back is rough so I think the value there is diminished.

Looking forward to your answers to my questions as my offer depends on those greatly. Thanks!

Ah, let's do free shipping to the continental US.
Whites are stock. No stickers, lube, or swapped springs.
Port mod IS rough. I moved while it was half complete. I was either going to widen it further to accommodate a USB port, or use a piece of rubber glued in place to cover it if I went with a cable straight to the teensy.

Generous of you on the shipping.
I would want to at least spring swap the whites or replace them all together so that takes it down a notch for my personal preferences.
I can finish the port mod and get a reasonable result I think but time is something I'm short on so I'm probably going to land in the insulting range so I'll wish you GLWS!

So what exactly would it take to get this board functioning? Forgive me for the stupid question, but I've yet to mess with building a keyboard.

If you don't want to finish the mod, it would just take a USB to Mini USB cable, and a set of key caps.

Just open up the case, and you'll see the "Teensy" controller, which a mini USB plugs right in to, then close the case and you're ready to play.

If you wanted to finish the mod, the port in the bad needs to be opened up a little bit more, and get a mini-usb to mini-usb port. The plan was to glue the port end in place in the back and then you've made yourself a removable usb cord.

If you're interested, but would like me to finish the mod I started, send me an offer. No motivator quite like money on the line to finish a project!

Cheers,

Are you able to finish the board up to my liking but be paid extra? Or you've given up and wanting to sell as is?

That depends on what extra entails. I've moved on from my interest in the board, and the project, and would prefer to focus my time in my current projects (non-keyboard related) but if this is what it takes to get it sold, we can talk.

Shoot me a PM with your offer and we'll talk
