I just don't want to get a fake and I'm not sure about this. http://www.amazon.ca/dp/B000F8OECM/ref=asc_df_B000F8OECM3910025?smid=A10C3ZVDB7VOID&linkCode=df0&creative=395393&creativeASIN=B000F8OECM&tag=shopbotca-20
If I don't think it's reputable I will have to eat the ridiculous shipping to Canada.

It would be slightly cheaper to go through a proxy service and get it from Amazon.co.jp directly from PFU direct. Obviously Amazon.co.jp is reliable but Tenso seems to be as well. (Never used it myself)
Just get EMS shipping and it'll only take about 4 days w/tracking after it arrives to Tenso. Normally only takes a day to ship from Amazon to anywhere in Japan so in total it shouldn't take more than a week to arrive.
If you'd really like i can also provide a proxy service but i cost a little more than Tenso.
*edit* i just re-read what you wrote and i'm like 99% sure that there aren't any fake HHKB's around so you don't have to worry about getting a fake HHKB.

i see people recommend proxies so easily. am i missing something? because for me it was expensive as hell.. the shipping cost from japan to me + import charges + the handling fees for the proxy..
it cost me a ton and it was really discouraging for me to use proxies again :/

For me it's generally the unseen import charges that make me recommend it since even when i was in Canada i don't think i was ever hit with import taxes on anything but i'm pretty sure that i was just lucky because many of my friends often got hit.
Shipping from Japan to anywhere is significantly cheaper than it was to ship from Canada so pretty much every shipping price to me looks cheap lol.
*edit* Also just to add to this to relate to OP's questions/links, the seller is located and will be shipping from Japan so he'll maybe be looking at import taxes from Japan anyways and the price of shipping is obviously just already included in the price at $300 CAD

Evo, they tightened up the borders so basically anything valued at $50 or more for commercial sale, etc, will be charged taxes now. I remember years ago I bought the LCD2 from the USA with no charges but it hsan't been the case since.

I looked at tensos website and it'll end up being $10 cheaper anyways. I've had things ship before from Japan that they marked "Gift" so it would get duty... Maybe tenso does that. But I might as well if I might get duty anyway.

When did this happen? :-[
