Title: Help! New keyboard and switch broken?
Post by: maroder on Fri, 02 October 2015, 08:22:23

Hi,

I just received my new WASDv2 keyboard and one of the switches is making an annoying sound. Here an example. It's the C-key: https://www.dropbox.com/s/edkglgy8m48i85x/2015-10-02%2011.56.41.mov?dl=0

Does anyone know what this is? Do the springs in the switch need some time to break in? If I hammer the key a few times the sound gets less and nearly disappears, but comes back if I leave the keyboard alone for some time.

Should I RMA? I could remove the switch, but I prefer not to void warranty with a brand new board.

Thanks for any hints,
Mark

I'd RMA if I were you. Definitely doesn't sound right, and while sure you could rip apart the board to fix it, why bother when you can get a new one?

Send it back, man. It's one thing if you got it a month ago, but if it's flawed out-of-the-box like that you've got to have WASD make things right.

Thanks for your input.

I'll RMA it, although it got much better, after hitting it like 300 Times. But if this is not normal, who knows, if it will start again.
A bummer, as I will have to pay the import taxes anyway :(

Definitely RMA. I have a board with Blacks and this is not normal.

RMA is always a first option, especially if it is a new board.

Or at least speak to the seller, WASD in this case.

Someone recently had a defective keyboard and the vendor sent him a second keyboard, letting him keep the first.
