Title: Super good Chinese Signing Pen
Post by: tp4tissue on Fri, 02 October 2015, 17:48:05
It's Super good for Chinese..

Got it at the 文具店 (stationary store) today,

Specs:

¥3.50 Yuan or  $0.55 USD

Gel pen

1.0 mm thick

_____________Geeky stuff below, just don't read it if you're not into writing..

Special Ability of Pen: Makes very thin lines and very thick ones, for more "Dramatic" feels   (http://i.imgur.com/oqaobDi.gif)

Writing smoothness: Very slightly Scratchy (this is good, because it gives you tight control)

Flow:   This is why I think this pen is exceptional, The ink-flow-rate is very smooth and continuous, the gel just explodes out of the tip.. Very wet..
_____ I've used other 1.0mm Gel pens before,  BAD flow..
________The Japanese 1.0mm Gels I've used were also very smooth, probably because Japan companies pride themselves on Precision Machinery,
_______________However I believe smoothness is often in conflict with control,  So if you're writing 楷书 (standard script), smooth pens don't produce the start / stop stroke-styles as effortlessly or as reliably..

____________________Smooth pens are more suited for 草书 Grass-Style (erratic-cursive) or 行书 Path-style (semi-cursive)

________________________To clarify, the Flow-of-Ink is smooth, but the Tip-to-Paper feel is (slightly scratchy)

FOTOS:

Please excuse my rusty Chinese writing, Have not had to write in a while..

I used flash, so you can see the deep grooves made by the pen tip, and that the line weight can be varied widely with pressing force.. (Zoom in)

I believe this brand, 晨光 M&G (Chen Guang)  is the largest budget brand of pens around China these days, I tried a bunch of their other pens, [sux0rz]..  but this one is a fantastic exception.

Bring back extras. I love pens of all types! You come back, you ship me some, I pay pal you, everyone wins.

I didn't even know you could get a pen that functions properly for $0.55!

Your heart looks a bit funny...

It's one of the most difficult chinese characters to write.

I deeply apologize for offending the public eyes.. (http://i.imgur.com/paCNmTw.gif)

Please excuse my sloppiness.
