Hi guys!
This is actually my first time posting an interest check. It all started when I went onto Massdrop today and saw an altered picture of the Bubblebee Set but in Mint Blue instead of Yellow and thought that it was an amazing set and don't know why no one have made it yet (unless they did and I haven't seen it yet then sorry!) I played around on photoshop to see how the keyset would look and came up with these.

^I played around with the hue on photoshop and got this kind of.
So I went on keyboard layout editor and made a blueprint and the result was this

It's not perfect but it's a start. I wanted to add in the arrow symbols for the shifts and enter key but can't figure out how to do it on keyboard layout editor so I left it out for now.
So for now, I went with Signature Plastic PBT VCE for the alphas and GSF for the mods.

Please note this is the first time I made an interest check and not 100% sure that I'm doing this correctly so any suggestion will be helpful!

What is the manufacturer you would use?

What is the manufacturer you would use?
As of right now, I picked Signature Plastic since it seems like they're a bit more affordable than GMK and the color I chose while using Keyboard Layout Editor were the Signature Plastic colors. However, I opened to any other manufacturers that has a nice shade of mint blue

Have you asked them if they are able to manufacture DCS profile in PBT? As far as I know they cannot do it just yet. And even less if you are thinking in double shot PBT. That is just out of question. Check that, otherwise your project would be double shot ABS in DCS profile; that, by the way, is not very popular at GH, because it is thin.

IIRC, the Mekan1sm keyset is planned to be in SP DCS profile and in Dyesub PBT. https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/3ggw7z/keyset_news_mito_dsa_scifi_concluded_mekan1sm/

Signature Plastics doesn't do doubleshot PBT and you can't dyesub light legends onto dark base caps, so this colour scheme cannot be done in PBT, regardless of the profile.
It could be done in ABS doubleshot, but if you choose DCS profile, I don't think it would sell too well, as DCS caps are thin and have a sharp angled bottom two rows.
You could try run it through GMK, but they've got a very high MOQ and I'm not sure the colour scheme would be popular enough. Sorry.

Has anyone ever ran a set with doubleshot ABS dark mods with light legends and dyesub PBT "alpha"s? The colours would be slightly different, but you could make it look intentional...

This could work. May actually be best to run it in DCS since the MOQ is low. The differece in feeling between the materials may put some off, but as long as the spacebar and alphas are all PBT it may be acceptable.
Still... DCS = not interested for me, personally.

The profiles known to be manufacture in both materials could be DSA made by SP and some of the ThaiHao's OEM caps. But, I do not see the point to mix materials when Vortex have double shot PBT, just check its colors available.

Do you guys know if ThaiHao would be able to manufacture these caps since they do have doubleshot PBT and the idea came off of their doubleshot bumblebee set but with mint/teal instead of yellow. They do have a minty color from the miami set and it does show that they can doubleshot the teal for the mods.

You should ask them. Molds are there, pigments can be bought with appropriate MoQs

Wow, I'd definitely grab a set if they're from Tai Hao because of their pricing level :thumb:

same colors as midnight keyset?

Similar, though it's inverted in this case.

This would be awesome if you could somehow get taihao to be on board with these and make it a regular product.
