Title: Stainless Steel Table Top
Post by: Lain1911 on Thu, 08 October 2015, 17:45:56
I saw this for sale for $50 or below. Oh how the ideas are flowing for a custom computer table. (or any table for that matter) What are your thoughts? I feel the potential is great with this one.

I personally like materials for desks that are softer than metal.
When I plop a metal board on a surface there is a much greater risk of damaging the board if the surface is as hard or harder than the metal.
I would much rather wear down a desk than my beautiful boards. Wood is a fine option for me.

The dimples kill it for me.

Mirrored finish or highly uniform finishes are only nice when they're new and Perfect,  as soon as you put some scratches on it,  looks like crap...

That's why I prefer brushed stainless if I do something with stainless.
