Title: Original Mac - Mini... ?
Post by: knightjp on Thu, 15 October 2015, 19:01:21
When I was a kid, I saw a movie on the Disney channel called Absent Minded Professor.. this was the one that starred Harry Andersen. It featured a original Mac SE called Albert.. I thought that computer was the business. It had touch screen... haha.. obvious TV magic, but amazing. I recently came across the movie and thought if it is possible to put the processor internals of a Mac Mini into a Mac SE body... Has anyone ever done that or thought about it?

Here's a guy converted an old Mac into an iPad dock: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2010/7/24/the-dockintosh.html

With a suitable screen, I don't see why you couldn't put a recent mini into an original Mac case.  Plenty of space.

I'm sure that there would be enough space. I think that the biggest challenge would be getting the mini internals connected & working with the original mac screen.

The original screen is not likely to be high enough resolution.  A small LCD would be better.

Pretty much... Yes. That is what I would like to do. :)
I guess I'm not the only one who has thought about it. :)
