Title: Matias Clicky/Quiet Alps Clone vs Blue/White alps?
Post by: snarfarlarkus on Fri, 16 October 2015, 21:13:44
I'm wondering if I should try out a Matias keyboard.

The title is a bit confusing. Do you mean, how are they compared to Alps clones or SKCM whites/blues? I'm not quite sure what you're trying to ask exactly =o .

Depending on the condition of the keyboard, I still much prefer original Alps white/blues over the Matias clickys. You could get unlucky and get a dirty vintage board. Alps don't seem to cope well and will get very scratchy/heavy with a bit of dirt. In that situation, a new Matias switch may be better.

I have many feelings about Alps (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=74524.msg1854207#msg1854207)

What do you mean when you describe a switch as "forthcoming?"

Easy to get hold of, I'd imagine.
