I made an account about a year ago, but I haven't posted yet.
Originally, I'm from Nebraska. Currently I'm somewhere else studying to be a air traffic controller.
I'm using a QFR with reds to type this, but I also use my planck with clears sometimes. Can't type worth crap, though.

Hey that is really cool, I wanted to be an air traffic controller but my maths is not at an acceptable standard. How are you finding it?
Also welcome

Welcome to Geekhack!
A good solid keyboard, the QFR, although mine have MX blacks ans greens (technically is a QFS with greens, but since I switched the keycaps it's not as stealth any more).
Have you still got the original keycaps on yours? Any plans to swap them out?

So far I enjoy ATC. I'm doing it through the Air Force, so I don't know much about the other ways to get in. Though, right now, I think they are delaying students in the civilian colleges, so it would be kinda hard.
As for the keycaps, I'm rocking the vanilla ones. I'm looking to get some new ones, but haven't found any I really like yet.

Ah cool, I am in Australia so it is totally different. They just took applications but I hadn't technically graduated university (finished but didn't have the piece of paper) then so I couldn't apply and then read into it more and realised that my maths wouldn't be up to scratch anyway. I am going to work on the maths skills for a while and hopefully apply next time. Air Force would be more interesting, I believe in Australia's Airforce you start out doing ATC stuff and then move into battlefield airspace control. I am assuming it would be similar in the United States?

There's lots of sets around - surprised you haven't had difficulty choosing one set form the many ;)

I've been trying to find one with red and cream. Then again, I haven't been trying super hard.

Everything I know about air traffic controllers I learned from the movie Pushing Tin. Hopefully its a bit less stressful a job than they made it seem

I can't think of any single sets with red and cream.
There were a couple of CCn? sets (cream cheese and ?) a while back, CCnG (green) being popular.

Most of what I know about air traffic controllers I learned from Breaking Bad. I really, really hope I have the wrong idea :p

That was just Q causing mischief like he always does. Except Picard wasn't around to keep him in check.

All jokes aside, that scene was for the most part really accurate. Somebody did their research.

Yeah, and Walter had to step in as councillor!
Actually that's probably where things went wrong.
