I've been reading through this forum and became intrigued enough to register.

I am an ergonomic enthusiast and software developer (though the title gave that away). I just purchased my first fancy and expensive keyboard: the kinesis freestyle 2 and am loving it so far.

Very curious what all the hype is with duck viper style keyboards and would love it if someone could fill me in.

There's a whole section on ergonomics (https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=125.0), but I guess you would have found that already ;)

The Duck Viper is a 60% keyboard, often with a layout reminiscent of the venerated HHKB.  Plus an aluminium case.  Those are two highly sought after aspects of a custom keyboard.
