Hello! I am rainb0wsquid, a fairly new member in the mech game. I've been on /r/mk for a good part of this year, and my mech collection currently contains a single model M, ISO German layout. I game a fair bit, but also type (I browse forums like GH or /r/mk a lot, and I also used to do HL2RP until the community I used to play in fell apart. [HL2RP is like 90% typing due to Gmod's restrictions] ).

Welcome to Geekhack!
That's a very nice Model M you have there :)
And the nice thing about the Model M is that it has a curved plate, so slightly different layouts (e.g. QWERTZ) Just Works (tm) by swapping keycaps around.
Do you find any problems with the 2kro while gaming? I game with some of my Model M keyboards sometimes, and haven't run into any problems.

I can game fine with 2kro, it doesn't really restrict me in any way (I don't play anything competitively).
My only problem with it is that it's white. I love the look of it, but if it gets dusty, it looks kinda ugly. Beautiful board otherwise.
Also, I figured I'd share what I'm looking for in a second mech: I want something that is either a soft click or just silent tactile. I want a similar spring weight to the Model M, and a TKL form factor. I don't need backlighting.
Thanks for the compliments!

I recently bought Shadow of Mordor, probably gonna install CSGO (I don't have a mic, so casual only for now)
I also really like Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and there's the occasional Thief, or something of the sort.
I'm looking for a good RPG (with actual RP) at the moment. Man do I miss HL2RP...

If you're into turn-based RPGs then I recommend Divinity: Original Sin. The Enhanced Edition with full voice acting and controller support is being released on Tuesday. Great for single player and co-op.

There are black Model Ms, also industrial, but you'll pay a fortune for an industrial Model M
For something quieter, you could try a keyboard with MX clear switches. They are fairly quiet, have good tactile feedback, and are fairly stiff. Not clicky.
As for keyboards, a KUL maybe. They are quite popular.
The only thing is a log of keyboards with MX clears ping - the plate reverberates as they keys jump back into place. Not all keyboards do it, and not everyone is bothered by it. But something you should know if you are going to be looking at MX clears.
