Title: Proud owner of a new WASD CODE, my first mechanical keyboard!
Post by: thatmiddleway on Fri, 23 October 2015, 09:39:45
I've been shopping around for about 2 months now, and finally pulled the trigger on my first mechanical! I was "happy" with the apple keyboard I'd had for a number of years, but then I went over to a friends that had a beautiful keyboard that felt like magic to type on. It's so cool that this community of keyboard nerds exists! Time to find some artisan keycaps for this beast!

I was lucky (or stupid) enough to get in on the last grab bag offer from pimpmykeyboard. Now I'm overwhelmed with caps and and fantastic new board!

Welcome to Geekhack!

I'm in a similar situation.  I was using Apple keyboards at home and work, and then got a Ducky with MX blues.  I haven't looked back since.  Which is either good or bad, as I now have at least 15 mechanical keyboards :))

Which keyboard did you get?  What switches has it got?

Anything interesting in your grab bag?  I had a few good finds in my first one, not much of interest in the second one, and completely missed out on this round.

Took me more than a year to reply to this, sorry! Well, since my first WASD Code, I now have 3 boards. I built a b.mini with zealio 68g's and have a POK3R that originally had cherry clears which I switched to the same zealio 68g's. I've picked up a bunch of keysets, but have settled on really liking GMK. The profile just feels good under my fingers and I like all the colorways. I've been participating in group buys for keysets, and have accumulated SkiData+, Skelator and Barebones stormtrooper. I also have an SA Jukebox ergodox set and DSA Dolch, but I don't use them. SA & DSA caps just don't feel right under my fingers.

Anyway, sorry for the late reply! I finally clicked the watched link, and realized someone responded to my first post.
