Hey, so I just recently purchased my first mechanical keyboard last month, Pok3r with mx reds (I game a lot). I learned about this community from r/mk and hope to be able to make my own keyboard from individual parts. I also plan to buy some keycaps from for my Pok3r as soon as possible! Looking forward towards the future, I can already see this being a big addicting hobby in my near future :D :)

Welcome to Geekhack!
Pok3r is a good place to start - standard layout, very popular, much support. What made you choose MX red switches?
Have you seen the recommended reading (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=68372.0) thread? There's lots of information linked from there about building your own keyboard.

Games needing a lot of function key action don't work well on a 60%. Too awkward in the tick of the action to Fn-4 to get F4, for example.
But apart from that I have no problems using my HHKB for gaming :)
