My greatest challenge has been to properly organize and store all my keyboards. The situation is worse for custom keyboards, most of them are very heavy and didn't come with a proper box. The options available in the market are too expensive or simply just not suitable for bulk storage.Show Image(https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7285/16125823864_456cee8ee2_c.jpg)
**this is how keyboards are stored in my wardrobe, terrible
To save space, boards should be stored vertically. IMHO, the cost of pouch/box should not cost more than $25, 5-10% value of a custom keyboard. Right now, I am looking this designShow Image(http://i.imgur.com/cNUABrB.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/8muGrcY.jpg)
I am able to get it made in the dimension we want and also in geekhack colorway. But before I proceed with getting a quote from them, I will need to find out more from you people. Who knows maybe there's a better design :blank:
Any comments are more than welcome. Hehe
I like this idea! What's good about the box style case is that the board can almost be any size, it just gives the ability to stack them, store them etc. From what I understand these would be more for storage and less for carrying right?I agree with you. It should be more for storage and less for carrying.

I just hope it's not too pricey..

yuktsi,
How about this one? The same pouch you referred?Show Image(http://gd1.alicdn.com/imgextra/i1/259600991/TB2PKNidpXXXXXxXpXXXXXXXXXX_!!259600991.jpg)Show Image(http://gd1.alicdn.com/imgextra/i1/259600991/TB2xZXtdpXXXXbJXXXXXXXXXXXX_!!259600991.jpg)

Looks very similar other than the holes, that one looks to be for a 60% though. It seems smaller to me

According to the product description, it seems to be able to support 60% as well as 80% at the maximum.
Is it a hard case??
Is it a hard case??
It's a soft case with foam cushioning on the inside, the intended use is for storing keyboards and not for travel(still could, nothings stopping you :p).
Are these like the OTD Eva cases? They look like it.
I've heard that the hard cases intelli used to make were the best. You may be able to get in touch with him and see if he is still open to making them. I have never used them, but have an EVA case, and its okay but there is zero internal padding.

Oh ok that makes sense now, if yuktsi can get the price under $20 then it's a steal in my opinion. I wonder how thick the padding is on the outsides though, I'm not too concerned if they're just going to be stored away but it's better to be safe than sorry. They don't seem to be too bad of a carrying case if you toss it in your book bag as well, may be a little too thick.
FYI.
The price was about $33 on average. The lowest I saw was about $16.
might be able to get one made below $20.

Fingers crossed for under $20. Around $30 still isn't all that bad but I wouldn't be able to buy nearly as many. :p
I also guess it is so similar to an Eva case.
Unfortunately I can't get a picture to show the inside part of it.
However, according to the product description, it is filled with high-density thick foams(aka sponges) play a role to protect shocks like cushions.
It is said that its thickness is 6 mm(about 0.23 in) or above.

tell me if the link doesn't work, that's where I bought mine.
It has indeed very solid walls, I trully love this case, it sits on my desk and my LZ-SQ sleeps in it every night.
The shipping can be quite tricky, wondering if anyone in US could help with the distribution. What type of distribution help would you need? I used to have a distribution company for auto parts and still have my UPS account with daily rates.
how much was the OTD one? I talking to the factory, asking if they can make a sample, in geekhack orange and dark grey.

I'd like a box for just my keycaps...
I am using £10 neoprene sleeves at the moment, so if you could get them for around $20 I would be interested :thumb:
