If I was into Macs, then I would so get this and linearise those switches like I did the Dell AT-101. That's got to be the most luxurious feel I've ever had on a keyboard.

That does sound sweet! I wanted to fiddle with this board when I picked it up, but decided to leave it original after all because it just looked and felt so nice already.

I may like it better than the Black Alps, but it could be that I'm simply not a fan of Alps tactility. I'll never know, as I can't afford to really play with vintage Alps boards in depth. Good luck selling, though.

I can't find too much information about these orange ALPS and was wondering if you could try to compare them to other switch types in terms of weight. I've tried most Cherry switch types, buckling spring, beam spring and Topre and was about to start looking into ALPS/Matias switches.

I only tend to like very light switches though. For example, I love browns/reds but I dislike blues that are only 5g heavier. I dislike Topre 55g but I like variable weight. I dislike buckling spring but I like beam spring. How heavy do these orange ALPS feel?

They have a similar tactility to Cherry Brown switches but they do feel a bit heavier. A chart on r/mk (https://m.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/wiki/switch_guides) says that these have a 60g actuation force and that sounds about right. These are my first experience with ALPS switches and they feel great on my opinion, but maybe they are heavier than you'd prefer.

Funny how the pendulum swings. I suppose that the current "Alps-frenzy" does not extend beyond blue and green.

It is rare to find such a clean, complete AEK because most of them are nasty looking.

For a switch donor it is probably not a good value at a little over $1 per switch, but this is a perfectly good and usable ANSI-layout (if perhaps not legended) keyboard that somebody could really enjoy using as a daily driver without having to invest time and effort to make it presentable.
