Title: Comics Thread!
Post by: Remenition on Thu, 29 October 2015, 20:47:51
Figured I would make this because I haven't seen one around here... but what comics do y'all read?
Don't know if it counts but my favorite comic strip has got to be calvin & hobbes, I've been reading it since I was a little kid and I still have a collection with every single comicstrip inside.

I love Calvin and Hobbes (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61073.0). I've also been buying tons of Invader Zim comic books.

I used to read comics in High School but stopped shortly after starting College.  I thought about getting back into it but there are so many it is daunting.

Is it bad that I've never heard of any of those? definitely have to check them out!

OOH! I used to read those also. I read Calvin and Hobbes every night, I probably have read through it at least 5 times.

They're a nice thing to do at night after I do homework and stuff, you should get back into it if you have freetime!

LOL didn't even read that, I feel stupid now. Never got into the comics, but was a huge fan of the cartoons when I was little

Ohhh!

I totally grew up on Calvin & Hobbes! Those comics have stuck with me for life <3

I don't read many comics these days, but I used to be into pretty much anything by Miller/Moore. I'm particularly fond of Batman. Especially the comics that have a lot of information and back story with other characters. Long Halloween, Killing Joke & Hush are great! And of course, Watchmen. Also a huge fan of most stuff involving Bruce Timm's art!  :thumb:

I havent read a single comic since late may, and it is depressing. I stopped right at the on set of secret wars time frame. Before then, and soon again, I was reading the key marvel/DC books, Manifest Destiny, Zero, East of West, Cosmonauts, Afterlife with Archie, Sabrina, with other random titles thrown in. I need to make it to my LCBS and pickup the backlog and grab my son some books.

Any recommendations from the past couple months I should get on?

Picked up a few comics in the past few years, mostly Marvel stuff. I got my hands on a Marvel Wizard of Oz, really liked it!

Latest pick up was Age of Ultron series, the first book. Not my favorite but still solid

My favorite over all would be "5 Ronin", REALLY awesome stuff!
