Title: Eye trackers
Post by: kebby on Fri, 30 October 2015, 15:52:35
Anyone tried something like the Tobii Eyex (http://www.tobii.com/xperience/) or the Steelseries Sentry (https://steelseries.com/gaming-controllers/sentry-gaming-eye-tracker) (I believe Tobii collaborated with Steelseries on it) or even just a webcam with appropriate software as a pointing device? The basic idea seems really interesting to me, I imagine you could even use eye gestures for actions.

I'm worried about the accuracy, at least with these cheaper alternatives. It can't be anywhere close to the level a modern mouse is can it? Also no idea about what kind of tools currently exist for translating the input to the cursor movements.

I think I read the accuracy is about a centimeter, which isn't good enough to replace a mouse.
