It's quite unfair for Topre Realfoce not to have an entry in wikipedia. This is a call for all capacitive switch and Topre fan out there to create an wikipedia entry! The public deserves to know more about capcitive switch and Topre!

Wikipedia (read: frequent editors and so-called "staff") are a bunch of obsessive-compulsive jerks.
Yes.
If they want useful articles they'd provide the means to indicate an article "still in progress" while you placed information in it over time and organized it.
Text editor + preview button. You can also put unfinished articles in a subpage of a user page.
The switch design may be significant enough to deserve an article but good luck getting it published with those ****s using every waking moment to patrol the website.
I have a feeling you're bitter.
(I completely understand the need to keep information current, accurate and properly organized but the way they do it is absolutely inexcusable)
While Wikipedia has many flaws, some inherent, "absolutely inexcusable" is seriously hyperbolic.

I'm having a hard enough time finding time to finish our wiki on Topre/Realforce. Maybe what I need to do is finish it then just copy it to wikipedia and see what they think about that. They may not like all the pictures though LOL but if you really want to understand how a keyboard is made you have to have the pictures.

Remember kids, no independent research. In the real world, your opinions are only as good as the Oxford scholar who came up with them before you.

Yes, it was: I was highlighting exactly why the unusual phrase "good feeling of oneness with cup rubber" is hilarious in English.

They deleted it already.

you should have cited the appropriate Geekhack wiki as a source...

You can also put unfinished articles in a subpage of a user page.
Maybe they should push the page back to your user area rather than aim to delete it as soon as they can. That would be more helpful.
Wikipedia, while useful, does come across as being an idiot's playground. I'm tired of seeing things like:
The sky is sometimes blue. *Citation required.

The other day I was reading an article on a piece of economic theory. In it's body it contained:
"Those who disagree with Laissez-faire[who?] "
-
Not everything on there's well-written either.
-
What happend to the opened article, it said it's deleted..?!!
-
Truth be told, I can understand why someone would consider this "article" an advertisement. People also tend to overestimate the importance of their own interests... although there are much more banal topics on Wikipedia.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Topre
I could see how such a short article might come off as a little weird.
Either add your text on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keyboard_technology or link to the Japanese wikepedia with its Topre (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%9D%B1%E3%83%97%E3%83%AC) and Realforce (http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/Realforce) page.
Also note that someone mentioned Topre switches in the discussion on keyboard technology. There is also someone else setting up shop as there seems to be some kind of advert for some "novel" kind of switches in there.
-
I'd say that article on Topre keyboards that was deleted wasn't the most informative.

Here is what some Germans think about Wikipedia: https://secure.wikimedia.de/spenden/list.php (https://secure.wikimedia.de/spenden/list.php).
It is a list of donations to Wikimedia for their annual fundraising campaign, with comments by those who gave their money.
Lots of people donated 1 Euro just to give a comment on Wikipedia's practices on content deletion.
Very entertaining, but also sad evidence that something's going very wrong there....
It seems like Google's translation of the URL doesn't work here, unfortunately, but copy-and-paste should be OK.
