A rugged, vandal resistant 65-position keyboard specifically designed for the public access kiosk environment. The construction comprises of full travel stainless steel key tops, operating individual, high reliability, tactile feel, electromechanical switches plus ultra rugged, phenolic, sealed trackball, mounted in a stainless steel fascia.
Trackball's gotta be the best part though...
Oh well, to each his own.
Are you going to use it as a whole or just strip the keycaps? If you plan on using as a whole, are you going to try to find a creative way to mount it to your desk or build a custom case (or something else)?
They'll probably be black cherries under those keys. Given the previous discussion about inertia and metal keys that may be a good match.
Maybe they use tactile in the way some eBay sellers use clicky...
wow, and for $15...
Luck of the draw...I came about 30 minutes from the end of the auction.
I think it is an Oracle type of sales trick.
Nice catch! I believe these are very expensive when you buy 'em new. It's probably not very nice to type on actually (if it's anything like the one I tried once - usability is sacrificed for durability), but for sure you will be able to poke out Ripster's eye with your ball of steel.
I for one am disgusted with the direction geekhack is taking with these outrageous images! Where is the art!? I'll be keeping an eye on you, perverted lego man!
Anyway, I think it is common knowledge that Oracle"s strategy to success was to create the Religion of the Aggressive Salespeople? Create business by commission. I've seen quite a few Oracle installments where ite was complete overkill and they did not need this kind of database capacity at all, nor the expensive service contracts and specialists to get and keep it working. Oracle is a bit like the financial sector selling mortgages.

Does this mean the woodworker is left handed?
Why must you do this on my thread?
I didn't get selected, but it was pretty fun, though. WiFi, a great cafeteria, comfy seats, all-in-all, it was pretty nice. I was chosen for vetting first, didn't get selected (actually, they didn't even get around to questioning me), and was out playing disc golf by 1:30.
What?
Or if Mad Max decides to switch from a PC to a Mac.
This is fun - wonder when Tim's keyboard will arrive?

Mhmm... This could make for a very interesting mod with Blue Cherrys...
