Title: [IC] Keycap Holders - Now on Massdrop
Post by: Glenmael on Sun, 08 November 2015, 03:52:59

~~Update
Now available on MD: https://www.massdrop.com/buy/npkc-keycap-holder
~~

Hey guys,

Started a poll on Massdrop as apparently that seems to be the only way to gain the manufacturers attention.

Please vote, if you like, on the NKPC option:

https://www.massdrop.com/vote/Keycap-Holders

Things that I would ultimately ask if this was to get off the ground would be:
1. Topre stems
2. Different layouts i.e. all evenly spaced stems
3. Color options
4. Spacers at the corners so they would stack better

Lets do this  :thumb:

Maybe one that is evenly spaced but inside a lidded box. +1

So these aren't available now? What would the price be? I need more information, though I'll certainly vote.

I found one on Taobao a few days ago for $23 if i recall. It was an acrylic jewellery case with lid. Works perfect with keycaps.

I believe these are available elsewhere, so maybe check out TaoBao or something similar? See quote immediately below:

No idea on pricing, we need to generate enough interest so that Massdrop can contact NKPC. :)

interested!

I NEED THIS!

Been buying those pill storage box to store my artisans in the meantime. Some are still in the plastic bag they came with. Definitely need a better way to store them and this looks like a winner.

And yes, Topre version also please :)

Put a vote in. Is there any estimate for how much the cost would be?

No estimate at present, and I don't think we will get one unless we get enough votes :(

I've already asked for feedback from MD but haven't received anything regarding pricing.

Thanks for the update!

I am looking for something cheap just to store keycaps (so I don't have ziplock bags laying around). But if I get some of these I could just display the keycpas!

No probs, yeah exact same situation here, my plan is to have them on display :)

I don't think these will be pricey at all, but we will have to wait and see, hopefully we get enough votes :)

Looks cool and definitely has its value in terms of storage, but not really great for display purposes (I think)  :-\

Could we ask them to include spacers at the corners so they would stack better? Any profiled sets would make the set on top slide off. 😀

Maybe worth pointing out that the KeyPop option is the worst for displaying caps but the best for storing them since they have enough space for those ISO/color/novelty add-ons that you see in many keycap sets.

In that and a lot better than zip lock bags...which is something I most certainly don't use  :blank:

Please drop a comment in the discussion thread. I am (we are?) After a way to display the caps nicely, I think the line between display and storage is clear enough :)

It does look nice and they have been out of stock for so long :( I'm hoping we can get the NKPC ones through and then dictate some custom designs
