After spending several days going over the posts here, I have decided I want a filco Model: FKBN104M/EB.
At elitekeyboards I noticed the price was 129 and 15 shipping, then I went to buy today and they jumped the price to 134 so I backed out for now. Is that the best price I am going to get online?
Thank you

Thank you
for US shipping,
reputable dealer,
non-ebay / real store,
yes
elitekeyboards.com
EDIT and if im not mistaken, that isnt a price increase... i thought they 87key NKRO was $129, and the 104key NKRO was $139? but now the 87key is $121. this is DEFINITELY a decrease. makes me want to offer up my "used for like 2 hours" NON-NKRO 104key for super cheap... but the box is not with me... but tell me if you don't care... id rather have the 87key / NKRO model myself, maybe even switch over to a cherry blue board.

Nope, the Tenkeyless models were originally $115, and the fullsize $129. There's a $5 increase across all Majestouch models, and $10 across the Topre boards.
Either way, outside of Japan there are only two places you can get Filcos - EliteKeyboards in the US, and Keyboard Co in the UK. There are some Japanese sites that sell worldwide, but they are more expensive. Even if they weren't, if there's a problem with your board, warranty may be non-existent, or require you to foot shipping the thing back to Japan. Brian of EliteKeyboards offers a great service, and it's worth the money both for the excellent keyboards and service you get from him.

EliteKeyboards.com is your best best for Filco and Topre key switch keyboards in the US.
I have acquired many keyboards and accessories from EliteKeyboards this year (almost $2K worth) and have been very pleased with the responsive service. As ripster and webwit have pointed out, these are botique keyboards that cater to a specialty niche market. After all, would you really not buy a Filco from Elite because the cost increased by 5 bucks?
What are you doin' buying a Brown Cherry board anyway? Wait for the FKBN104MC/EB with Blue Cherries which is supposed to be available in December. Blue Cherry key switches are much more entertaining than Brown Cherries. Brown Cherries are OK, but boring in comparison.

$2000. I need a sugar daddy.

Or a corporate procurement department.

I wonder if I can use that on my taxes.
I just turned 29 happy birthday to me. world's oldest immature gamer and programmer.

Sure you can, legitimate business expenses are tax deductible!
Happy Birthday, but if you just turned 29, why do you list your age as 67 in your profile?
I'm no gamer, but at 41, I'm almost as immature as webwit.

it says 67? weird. oh I think I just quickly filled out the reg app with random numbers because I needed to ask a question which I never ended up doing.
webwit that dirty old man ;)

Nothing immature about gaming at your age. Average age of current gamers is in the 25-39 bracket.
It's a good thing too many people think gaming is for kids or whatever. Just ignorance on their part, at least your doing something enjoyable and more interactive than say a movie. Plus think of the staying power of some of the great online games out there or single players(or mods, total conversions). Compared to a movie and depending on the game sometimes those 30-50 dollars pays for itself in more entertainment.

This is probably due to the fact that the dollar is losing value to the yen. A few months ago the dollar was worth about 100 yen today it is worth about 89 yen so if we backtrack.
If the keyboard cost elitekeyboards $100 dollars that would be 10,000 yen
Today that same keyboard would cost about $112 dollars even though the price in yen has not changed.
I would bet that elitekeyboards has been eating this cost for a while now but it has finally gotten to the point where they can no longer eat it so they have raised the price to reflect there increase in cost due to the devaluation of the US dollar.
I will not go into the reasons for the dollar losing value as most of us know why it is loosing value right now and will continue to lose value for a while. So you might as well get the keyboard while it is cheap because it is going to get more expensive as the dollar continues to loose value in relation to the yen.

I thought the only difference was the click?

Personally, I think the browns are VERY nice. I really like their subtle tactile feedback. Great feel IMHO. The blues are my personal favorite...but you'll never see me knock the browns.

No. The difference is much more than just the click. Believe me, I've tried both and they are completely different. I will echo iMav's remark here "Personally, I think the browns are VERY nice. When comparing the brown Cherries to the blue Cherries, the brown Cherries don't have the click, but also requires less force to fire. All in all, there's a quite noticeable difference in feeling and sound. Which is better will depend on the user's taste. Personally, I prefer blue Cherries, but the brown cherries are nice to type on too, especially after you've used them for a while. The more you use them the more you'll like them. They are also suited for environment where noise level is a concern.
I'm not saying that Elitekeyboards raised the prices because of it's "monopolistic" position, but if you are in the US, Elitekeyboards may be the cheapest way to get a Filco, unless there is another way which I'm not aware of. One thing I know is that Elitekeyboards service is very good. Personally, I'm willing to pay and extra $5 if the service is good.

you think a 5 year old voice coming from a 29 year old woman who says "you little bastard i'm going to frag your ass and have a snack with your mother" is mature?
I know what you are saying. I have been playing online games since 1997. Team Fortress, Team Fortress Classic, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Weapons Factory, Weapons Factory Arena, Rocket Arena 2, Rocket Arena 3, Instagib, Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2, etc.
right now I train with some young talent from CEVO and STA in Team Fortress 2 to help improve they're game.
