Thank you for posting.
But that's not exactly what I'd call a 'very good condition'. ;D

Its been on eBay for months.. I don't believe its a keyboard box. Seller is just taking a guess and trying to add interest. Very few IBM keyboards would fit in a 16" box.

I didn't think anyone would want this back when the seller listed it the first time.

I have a Model F AT box that is about 19"x13"x4" so this box is far too small to be an original IBM keyboard box.

any chance that this box would be for 62 keys or 50 keys model f?

Is this a thing? People actually sell boxes?

Is this a thing? People actually sell boxes?
Yes.
And collectors will actually buy them to add to their collection.
Some people collect (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=47388.0) the weirdest things (not pointing at anyone here in particular).

I guess it makes sense! People think I'm weird as hell for collecting keyboards and having so many sets of keycaps, artisans, etc. when I can only use one at a time.
Reminds me of this video :D

I love the intensity and slight tinge of insanity in his voice - the kind of voice you learn to avoid at parties :D

I could see that being the case if the box were in halfway decent condition, but in its current state it's exceedingly dubious, in my opinion.

LOL—we had a whole thread going on this item (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=76472.0) last month.

Well, the plastic-chair collector, that seems like an autism thing:
Obsessions and special interests (https://www.ambitiousaboutautism.org.uk/understanding-autism/behaviour/obsessions-and-special-interests) "If there’s one thing everyone knows about people with autism, it’s that they can be single-minded. But when does a special interest tip over into an obsession?"

Selling a grimmy box? For 15? Yuk, you'd probably get sick from touching it

I think you mean grimy. Here's Grimmy:
