Here's two recordings of my HHKB Pro 2 45g with dental bands - before and after lubing. I used the EK MechLube 2 (http://elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=access,misc&pid=mechlube_2).
No lube. (https://soundcloud.com/livus/hhkb-pro-2/s-psSPy)
With lube. (https://soundcloud.com/livus/hhkb-45g-dental-banded-and-lubed/s-5hmpd)
As you can hear the sound isn't all that different. I've yet to "break in" the lube, but it feels pretty good. Removes a little bit of the snappiness, but makes it quiter and a bit smoother.
Sorry for the background noise. Didn't realize it was there until I was recording my second clip, and wanted to keep the recordings as similar as possible.

Still sounds gritty. I find the Realforce 87U to be quite a bit smoother than my HHKB.
I've been meaning to lube my HHKB and will probably get around to it this week and see how it is, as well as add sound deadening inside the case.
Thanks for sharing!

Yea I don't think lubing is gonna change the sound a lot but it surely will make it feel smoother.

Where do I get dental bands?
Is there a certain size I should get?

Was it worth it?

I think most people go for either 3/16" or 1/8" bands, ebay is prob the best place to pick some up.
