Pretty much fixes everything wrong with everything...
I think even the bad guys are just bad because they're not getting enuff sleep.

Agreed. I used to have a major fear of missing out on things during sleep, so I would stay up late and try to hang out with friends, in Mumble, or whatever for as long as possible. I finally realized after years of 5-6 hours of sleep per night that I am a much more productive and enjoyable person if I sleep 7-8 hours a night.
-
Totally agree. It does wonders.
I hope I haven't put too much stress on my body, though. Five-six hours is what I get on average, but I know that my body needs at least eight.

Lately I've been feeling more refreshed after 6 hours or so, opposed to 8.
I need new pillows and a mattress bad.

So @ tp4tissue how much sleep is enough?
-
≥ 6 hours, in increasing intervals of 90 minutes

I dream of 8h sleep for a few weeks now. Our little boy wakes up every night at about 2AM, then it takes some time until he sleeps again. Afterwards I am awake, and try to get sleep again. Then it is so late/early, that I have to go to work again. Now I said to myself: 3h of sleep is better than no sleep!

Holy cow, that's, like, not good for your health.
Why does he wake up? Our little one sometimes wakes up in the middle of the night. Depending on what time it is, and how severe her cry is, we'll go over. If it's just her fussing we ignore it and she'll fall back asleep on her own.

Invest in a good bed and your life will change.

We think he wakes up because of dreams. Sometimes he cries, and I carry him around and then he falls asleep again very fast. Sometimes it takes longer. It started about 2 months ago, before we had absolutely good and quiet nights! Now I go to bed sometimes at 8PM :)

So @ tp4tissue how much sleep is enough?
I wake up pretty consistently around the 7.5 hours mark..
But CLiB has the right idea.. increments of 1.5 hours, >/= 6 hours or 4 cycles.
If I've sustained any physical damage like my poor shoulder recently, i notice I sleep a good bit deeper and longer, getting close to 9 hours..

If > or = 6 hours and < 7.5, go with 6 hours. If > or = 7.5 and < 9, go with 7.5 hours. etc.
waking up in the middle of a cycle will make you feel more tired than if you slept for less time, but at the end of a cycle

I thought about this for a long time.. but Even if you wake up in the middle of a cycle and "feel" more tired..
Theoretically, you body will still undergo more repair than LESS-sleep overall..
So, more sleep regardless of WHEN you wake up should be better.
-
Also, how you wake up can determine your mood, too. If you wake up peacefully you're more prone to having a better mood throughout the day, whereas otherwise and you're a grouch.
Or so I've heard.

Every thread that I think is a TP thread, is 95% of the time a TP thread.
Also, has China made you softer? You seem more human these days. How is your wound?
-
My sched is ****ed. I usually will sleep about 11-14 hours a day if I don't need to be at work. I'll go to bed at around 5am and wake up at 6 or 7 pm and then feel like **** for the rest of the day but still do it again the following night :(

I got like 5 hours of sleep last night and I feel pretty bad right now. I just have problems going to bed early or falling asleep. About the sleep cycles, there are apps out there that wake you up between sleep cycles judging from your movement in bed. Anyone have some tips for falling asleep faster?

Imagine you're on a an island.. ALONE... (no females, because too distracting)
and now you gotta do minecraft stuff to survive..
That's how I fall asleep .. max 10 minutes..

I generally find that another 10 minutes is enough.

No, just most mornings when I wake up I wish I'd had an extra 10 minutes sleep. Or 15 minutes, I'm not fussed, either will do.

Those 10-15 minutes would be appreciated, but snoozing is a bad habit that's hard to get rid of.

I'LL GO TO SLEEP WHEN I GET MY GODDAMN STAR

I definitely didn't get enough sleep last night.
30 minutes after going to bed I was pretty much asleep, and this ****head over the road seemed to try to close his car door quietly, but took about half a dozen tries. Started his very rough engine, revved it a couple of times and drove off.
So ... back to sleep.
Then 30 minutes later, nearly asleep again and Evil Kneivel down the road decides to see how quickly he can accelerate his noisy motor bike down the road. AGAIN.
So ... back to sleep.
Then 30 minutes later, some more ****heads from across the road decide to have a shouting competition and car door slamming party at the end of our driveway.
So ... awake for the next couple of hours with all sorts of nasty ideas going through my head waiting for the next noise.
Eventually got back to sleep, only to wake up an hour later with a mild stomach ache.

I've been getting 5.5 to 6 hours a day ever since u started this job and I am definitely getting more unfit. Still gymming 5 times a week but not seeing any physical gains and also a lot more irritated. I really need to do something about it because it's starting to have a negative impact on my life.
-
I've been working out Tp4 muscles.. no gains... pretty much just losing weight. because I'm not eating well..
I really don't like the food.. and my body has to process alcohol 3 times a week.

Enjoy it. I didn't realize it at the time, but the most sleep I've gotten was during college. If I didn't have a full night's sleep, I could always take a nap later or get a longer night next time.
Once you get a job you have no catch-up nights, as you have to wake up the same time every morning.
And when you have kids, forget it. A full night's sleep is a luxury until they get older.
-
The thing that irks me is everyone told me that once I started working, I wouldn't be able to sleep-in any more and that I would grow accustom to waking up early, that I wouldn't be able to sleep past 8am on weekends...
It's been over two years and that hasn't happened yet. I'm tired pretty much every morning and if I don't set an alarm on the weekends I can still sleep in past 1pm easily. I feel cheated.

When we were young we always wanted to be older. When we got older we just wanted to be young again.
And you're right, mobbo, I still haven't gotten used to waking up early. -_-

I've had the same job for 10 years, and still can't get up without at least 2 alarms clocks.
Some people are just not morning people

I try to go to sleep around midnight, but can spend all night in bed without sleeping

I will admit that I almost always wish I hadn't stayed up that last hour before I go to bed. But I need to browse GH/reddit and finish my HS arena run...

Haven't played vidya since MH4U and Majora's Mask 3D released, which was earlier this year. Granted, I did stay up a lot of nights in years past playing vidya, so that may have conditioned my body...
