Hello! My addiction took root quickly. In about a month, I've gone from owning no mechanical keyboards to buying three.
After some research, I decided to try out a TKL with Browns and got my first mech, a Quickfire Rapid. It was awesome and much better than the Logitech G15 keyboards I've used in the past. I was hauling it back and forth to work for a week before deciding to buy a second mech. I liked the Browns but wanted to try something different and decided on Clears. Then I decided to try something different than the TKL so went with a 60% and got a Pok3r.
I really liked the Pok3r, especially the form factor, but at the end of the day, I used my arrow keys way too much so it went back and I picked up a Leopold FC660C. I'm not 100% sold on the Topre yet but it is pretty nice!
I tried using my G15 again and it feels so mushy now. There's no going back.

Welcome to Geekhack!
A QFR is a good solid keyboard. I have a QFR and a QFS (blacks and greens respectively).
Topre might take a little while to get used to, but if you're destined to enjoy oneness with cup rubber then you'll find all your MX keyboards will start to gather dust as you try to raise funds to buy an HHKB, and maybe a RealForce.
Good luck ;)

Thanks!
The Leopold was a beautiful piece of hardware but something about the layout didn't sit right with me, maybe just the asymmetry. Fortunately a great deal came up on a HHKB so I'm awaiting its arrival now.

Hey! Welcome! I spent a lot of time in the Evansville area before I moved away from home! It's always cool seeing new people from familiar places on here.
Congrats on your new addiction! I personally really like the Leopold fc660c, but then, I like a lot of keyboards ;D

Thanks! I'm in Bloomington but I've been to Evansville a handful of times visiting friends that had moved there. The drive used to suck but I guess it's better now that I-69 is complete between the two cities.
I had the white FC660C and it definitely is a looker. I think I just got caught up in wanting everything (keyboards, custom keycap sets, artisans) and started having doubts about it's non-standard layout when Topre sets are already rare. The HHKB I'm getting comes with white and black blanks and all four of the PBT spacebar colors so hopefully that will help me chill a bit.
I do want to say that a "Booper" was one of the first artisans I saw a picture of and thought it was amazing. It was the the little space helmet dude. You do great work!

Nice! For being mostly a big college town, there seems to be plenty of businesses that have offices here. Or maybe that's just how many college towns are.
