Title: Almost finished keyboard!
Post by: Auxo on Thu, 24 December 2015, 22:04:29
Hey guys, so I'm relatively new here, as I signed up not too long ago and I wanted to see what you guys thought of my current daily

Here is what it currently is...

Vortex Pok3r

Keycaps: IMSTO thick pbt dye subbed grey with blue fonts & HOLYOOPS Aluminum RGB modifiers

Pok3r (or universal?) 60% Datamancer Dark Walnut Wooden case (Massdrop)

Braided Brass USB Cable with gold heads and white shrink wrap

Here is the link to the album I made, please know that I am not a photographer by any means, I don't know how to take nice photos lol. I've done what I can.

I like it, particularly the case. I'm not so sure about the modifiers but to each their own. Looks good!

Thank you!

one of my friends just ordered me a zinc ESC button too lol, that's going to essentially finish my build, until i can find an anodized aluminum keycap to engrave on my own

Sweet :)

The contrast between the wooden case and aluminium keycaps is nice.

I like the case. I am not too sure about the different colours on the modifier keys but I do love the metallic look to the them though. For the rest of the keys I'd probably have experimented with a lighter colour but it's a really unique looking board. Not that I have even the slightest clue how to create custom boards like that :D.

What switches are you using?

Originally, I wanted to do a classic beige set of keycaps, but after digging around for too long, I just picked these up instead, and so far I'm perfectly happy with them tbh. and yeah, the RGBs have been mentioned, but I rather like the colors that it adds to the bottom of my board :D This keyboard isnt very custom though, this wooden case was a product from massdrop that i recently received in the mail

These switches are MX Reds!

Title: Update: what I have now and what I'm waiting on
Post by: Auxo on Thu, 28 January 2016, 14:26:59
Hey guys!

Here's what I'm currently sitting at rn

I put away the wooden case from datamancer, and migrated my IMSTO & pok3r case to the new KC60

The pok3r is now using the stock white plastic KC60 case and taihai olivettis

Things I am currently waiting on:
EnjoyPBT group buy (bought red & purple)
HKP (ordered 4 purple blanks and 1 lavender)
January Geekhack keycap (purple)
And I am planning on finding a purple tex aluminum case in the next couple of months to do a complete purple set up :)
