Indeed it is, I spend my whole high school in front of a Chartreuse museum/cella it was a blast ;)Wow! France has got so many cool historical things there. My wife stuidied in Paris and when I went to first meet her there I fell in love with the history and architecture around every corner. You don't see that very often here in the US.
I like water. sorry I don't drink beers and other softdrink
WATER IS THA BEST
I don't really much like wine but my wife always wants me to drink some so I just choose the Red one.
Bourbon, neat. Also like stouts as far as beer goes.
I'm a simple guy.
Just jack'n'coke me and I'm happy.
I like water. sorry I don't drink beers and other softdrinkI feel you. I'm a water drinker myself--typically tap, neat, lol.

Although I like the alcoholic kick I have never understood vodka. I drink liquor for the taste experience as well as the buzz.Thank you for the great insight! What are the names of some of those $1k bottles of bourbon? And what have you had that's similar, ie more bag for the buck?
For mixed drinks, I see little reason to go to high-priced premiums when you are disguising the taste anyway.
And the stronger the taste of the mixer, the greater the diminishing of the premium substrate.
Because of that, I recommend drinking any premium liquor straight up.
I have a brother-in-law-in-law who has $1K bottles of bourbon and, although they are very nice and extremely smooth, they are not really all that drastically nicer and smoother than a good "ordinary" bourbon (disclaimer: I come from a long line of Kentuckians), although there are similar esoteric snobberies for every varietal.
There is a surely a difference between a <$50 bottle and a >$50 bottle, but, unlike the difference between a <$50 keyboard and a >$50 keyboard, it is temporary and ephemeral.
So probably stupid question, but how is a bourbon different than a whiskey? Or are they the same? I have a bottle of Jim Bean and it says 'Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey'. Pretty confusing since apparently Scotch is actually a whiskey, but from Scotland?Bourbon, neat. Also like stouts as far as beer goes.
Stout is the way to go. Bourbon neat is delish also.
There are many different kinds of whiskey, ("whisky" to Scotsmen) all distilled end products of fermented grain mash, usually barley, corn, wheat, or rye. Techniques for brewing and distilling, local soils, and ancillary ingredients determine types.Thank you! Sheds a lot of light on the subject. :thumb:
"Malt" refers to barley, anything else is "grain" whisk(e)y. Scotch whiskies have a strong peat aroma due to the soil, and Irish whiskies are similar to Scotch but smother due to more distillation and less (or no) peat.
American whiskies usually contain corn, there are countless variations. "Tennessee whiskey" for example, is like bourbon but filtered through charcoal, and Canadian whiskies usually have more rye. In the US, if it is called by an ingredient (eg "rye" whiskey) then it must be over 50% that grain in the mash.
I really like vodka I have a strange pallet. Most people can't even tolerate vodka but I like to drink it straight while swishing it.
woody creek is one of my faves goes great with ice

If you enjoy rum, you should try the above. Friend brought me back some from a trip down south of the border and I have been babying it.
Favourite drink is definitely whisky (I.e. Scotch). Preferably something young and light, aged in ex-Bourbon casks and with plenty of peat flavours.A lot of the craft beers here in the US aren't like actual ales from what I can tell. Here in MKE (the home of Miller and ex-home of Pabst and Schlitz, and home to many craft brewries like Lakefront), they're fairly light and seasonal. What are some of the brands and brews you're seeing there? I'm curious as to what may be coming right here from MKE.
Current favourite is Port Charlotte from Bruichladdich.
Beer-wise I like my ales, but none of this "craft beer" crap that's being brought over from the states. I don't know if what we get is what you guys actually drink, but it just tastes like a decent lager rather than an actual ale.
Very cool! Do they ever have any special batches that you've tried?
That's wild! I've never really understood the whole chicken and waffles things though. I guess I like my chicken or waffles straight up and neat, lol.Very cool! Do they ever have any special batches that you've tried?
Tons. They infuse liquor at their bar, ive tried so may infusions including friend chicken with maple syrup vodka. It actually tasted like fried chicken and waffles!
