Hi all, I've been getting an itch for a new keyboard project, and since i'm petty much set with custom keyboards, I want to give my hand at building a case.
My question is what type of stand offs do you use? standard pc motherboard ones?
I want my keyboard to be as slim as possible, so looking for ideas.
Thinking of making a prototype out of cheaper wood and materials before going all out on a fancy one. My wood working experience and tools are limited, but I want to give it a go considering all the local prototype shops would be charging me nearly a grand for a custom alum. case.

Standoffs are for electrical isolation.
If the PCB can't touch anything but an insulator like wood, there is no need.

I honestly think a standoff maybe 2mm high would be sufficient for each screw hole like the Duck Viper for instance.

I bought mine from McMaster. M2 inserts. I'll see if I have the invoice somewhere....

Mine are molded into my carbon fiber keyboard case, so I'm not sure if that will work for your application. Hope that helps!

Mine are 5mm in the case I'm designing, the DIP switch is really damn tall but we have no slot for it so it depends on that.
