Hello!
I'm a computer enthusiast that enjoys overclocking, benching, tinkering in java (!=script) and bash scripts, some games (although my age (or maybe other interests) is starting to push me to more 'casual' gameplay) and all things involving computers and work a boring job in IT (so yes, I live and breath computers and there is more coffee in my veins than there is blood). So I've owned a few keyboards over the years including a few Microsoft 4000's but always considered mechs gimmicky and never really had a chance to try one until a few months ago I bought my first mech, it was a razor tournament 80% keyboard with razor green switches ('MX-Compatible' blue style switches.) for $60 at a local store. After playing with it a while I fell in love with it and didn't experience any major issues other users here have reported. But of course it was only a matter time before I starting doing some more research on the topic and ran into this board and have been lurking for about 2 months reading everyone's opinions and ended up buying a pok3r with cherry MX clears almost a month ago and love it. But of course this wasn't enough, it then led me to consider more keyboards Leading to my morning decision to purchase a WASD CODE 80% with cherry MX greens this morning before work and am kinda wanting to try some topre switches... but I should probably hold off on that for a while.
So yes, this board has got me excited on my boards and want to try them all :p
tl;dr: I blame all of you ;)

Don't hold off on Topre. We all end up there in the end... some it just takes longer than others.
Greens are a manly switch as far as MX goes, though, so cheers for that.

Welcome! How are you liking the clears? thinking about going with those as an upgrade from blues for my eventual 65% build

Thank you, I like the clears because I'm naturally a heavy typist so the extra resistance is really nice because I have to slow my typing rate to avoid from bottoming out my razor greens because If I type at my normal rate I'll just slam them straight down. I ordered the greens on the WASD board though because I wanted the clicky noise that I got from my razor switches, although I'll admit it is kinda nice to type without a constant echo of a noisy switch, so I'm a little indecisive on that lol.
I'd imagine that some people may tire quickly using clears, but I'm sure you could get used to it.

Greens are slightly lighter than clears, but IIRC the CODE with greens has O-rings installed. Whether or not you like those is another matter.
If you like heavy clicky switches, have you consider a buckling spring keyboard?

This guys speaks truth although I do like cherry mx only because of the endless available customizations you can do.
Also good luck in your keyboard venture I've spent at least over 3k on keyboards

Thanks, good to know, I actually ordered O-rings to test with it but if they're already on there that's kinda nice I guess if I end up linking them I can throw them on my poker 3 aswell. I have considered a model M or unicomp, however I don't want to sacrifice the space for it I always hated how much room my MS-4000 took up... And I'm not sure I want to pay the premium for a IBM space saver especially since I'm probably going to mod it anyway to work with a mini USB so I can swap it easier (Both my poker3 and razer use mini usb so it makes it super easy to swap between them, the WASD board is even being met with a micro to mini usb adpater) , but we'll see.

Yeah that's the biggest reason I went with cherry switches to begin with even though I was originally looking at topre, I already had 2 sets of custom key caps that I had put onto my razer.

SSKs are not all that expensive - I managed to get two at a very reasonable cost each (I was only looking for one, and the two turned up at the same time - I couldn't refuse).
http://phosphorglow.net/ makes a replacement USB controller for Model M keyboards, AFAIK it would work with an SSK, so you would just need to swap controllers, then plug the USB cable into the socket. Or get one or orihalcon's SDL to USB cables (I have one) - plugs directly into the SDL port on the back of the SSK and then directly into the PC's USB port.
