Title: G80-3000 vs majestouch vs ... ?
Post by: MISTERCROW!!1! on Sun, 22 November 2009, 09:25:30
Hi all, first post :)

I was just posting in the colemak forums - http://forum.colemak.com/viewtopic.php?id=787
I would like a new keyboard with a large budget, but would like it kinda quickly and I live in the uk.

here in the uk, I can get hold of an G80-3000 quite easily or with a little more hassle; one of the filco boards. (cherry blue switches both ftw)

Anyone got a preference?
Also any other board suggestions would be welcome :)

I bet you'll be happy with any of those keyboards. They're both great products.

One potential concern with either of the above boards if you intend to covert them to a Colemak layout is that the keycaps are different sizes on different rows, meaning that you get uneven heights along the different rows. The only keyboards I know of that don't suffer from this issue are the IBM/Unicomp buckling spring boards. If you want a blue Cherry board, a blank one might be a good idea. I think Keyboard Co in the UK is going to be introducing a blank G80 within the next few months.
