Title: KBC the keyboard to cheer u up, a new brand by kbd enthusiast.

there is a story, HASSELBLAD was one hte the most famous camera factory, when the second would war happened, the Sweden air force got a spy camera from German,and asked the victor.hasselblad if he could try to make one camera as the same. he said : No, i can't, but i can make a better one.    
we are a group of chinese kbd enthusiasts. we knew each other by internet and became a team. every kbd produced by kbc will be designed and made as the highest standard as we can. like pbt crust, dye keycaps, n-key,etc...  doing everything to enhance the feeling of your typing.
ducky is the kbd from our factory but not designed by us, but we now have different collors of keycaps. as ducky 104 108 comes, the full 104 keycaps are coming soon.
here is a couple of pic of ducky production of ducky and KBC.

It would seem to be Cherry switches "KCB THE KEYBOARD TO CHERRY YOU UP" ,unless KCB is trying to scam which is unlikely else they go out of business very very quickly. No idea atm if you can purchase it in the US, but what I really like to know is if its' possible to be purchased from UK.:nod:
 Very much like to get one with the orange keys, preferably tenkeyless, or maybe just a set of colour key-caps

Do you still make the standard compact layout or maybe even the Japanese version that Filco produced????

that plum is a Chinese brand kbd, blue cherry mx.  
it's about 300rmb , it's almost the cheapest kbd in China.  
if anybody want to buy this strange kbd, i can help ,  but it will cost almost about 600rmb for shipping...... so   #@^*^*&^*&_+_)(%&^$

What's an rmb?  Oh a yuan? So 900 yuan?  Like $130?  Hmm, that site would indicate less in hkd?

Ah well.  I may have to pass.  I just noticed the really just too odd layout of the Plum.  A keyboard enthusiast designed that??  How can you make the question mark part of the f12 key???  Not to mention displacing the backspace, and getting rid of the ; and " keys?

Maybe for non english speakers this board isn't too bad?  I would have trouble having to hit f12 every time I wanted to use a question mark though.

Standard layouts are not always the best. I've played around with my laptop's one a bit - I swapped Ctrl and Caps, and I'm going to swap Tilde and Esc (I keep missing Esc when using Vim)

It might work if you rewired some of the board, but it'd take too much effort.  I'd rather make a mini mechanical wireless in the proper format from the bluetooth keyboard I just bought off ebay. lol.

I collect keyboards because I need them whenever I expand the computer lab down in the bomb shelter. I might as well have a good keyboard on each of my desktops instead of some junky rubber dome. . .

we have discussed alot about the layout,  it seems the standard layout is the best for most people,  just like filco 80%, cut the right part simply.  
whatever   few people like strange layout, like ctrl<->caps  or esc<->....
the layout of that small plum is quit monstrous, because of the backspace, numlock, and "." ,the distance from L to Enter is too short. but if get usedto it, it not a bad kdb.

i am one of the KBC team. i can get you guys ducky and KBC keycaps. but the shipping is a problem.
ducky is differnet with filco, it looks like filco just because it's also narrow frame.

They won't fit a realforce, they are cherry switches and therefore cherry caps.

Be careful before parting with your cash. The HK Shop (there is no shop), seems this guy goes into China twice a Month (probably to meet-up with XXX, very common pastime in HK) and purchases to order, then delivers by meeting customers at Mass Transit Railway stations (MTR). He says due to financial hardship, he does not have a shop, I find this to be very suspect for a businessman. Between Causeway Bay and Wan Chai, there's a Mall with a vast number of mini boutiques, all selling Computer equipment. These boutiques are relatively cheap to rent, to say one cannot afford shop is quite unbelievable.
      There are many stories from people in regard to SCAMMING in THAT part of the World. My word of advice is to be careful. This HK Shop can put its' good  on Ebay , no ???
      People inside Mainland China do not dare SCAM inside China = Death sentence, so they SCAM people outside China = gullible people and they can get away with their crime.
      Large numbers of pre-orders and no delivery = nice little earner :fish2:

BTW, I is originated from THAT part of the World.     Geekhack may be targeted in a SCAM.  NB. all the proDUCKs are NIB ( Newly Initiated Brethren)

I've bought a lot direct from China, even small sellers.  I've never had them not come through with a product.  I've had them take 2 or 3 months to get it to me, and the quality isn't always great, but it usually comes.  In 100 transactions I'd say 100% was what I expected.  In the same amount of sales from the US about 2 or 3 will have some sort of problem, from just not sending it, or the product being not what was described.  

I would say generally China has a much lower scam rate than in the us.  It would be pretty silly to offer something for sale on this board too cause the instant someone has a problem no one else is going to buy from that person.

I have bought many things in bulk and individually from China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Brazil to name a few.  I have rarely had troubles, but you must be in a situation where they stand to lose more by scamming you than by fulfilling their end of the deal and delivering what they promise.  Then you both win.  Find someone who cares about their reputation and wants to earn trust and more business and they will take care of you.

I don't make generalizations about how a person is based on what country they are from, I've met great people and jerks from most parts of the world.

This looks like a great thing they are doing and the key is to buy from a responsible INDIVIDUAL who will see to it that you receive your goods.

If the risk is high, the price must be low.  If risk is low, you can charge a higher price.  That is the nature of international business.

I wish them luck and plan on buying a 108 Ducky from them.

I don't think they are scammers. The population of keyboard enthusiasts in China exceeds the US by miles, ignoring the fact that China is 23987348 larger =P

it's funny because we've been trying to research a geekhack keyboard or get some different keybaps in different colors but it seems like it's merely impossible in the US. I guess China or some other Asian countries will be our best hope.

Thanks for warning me and everybody about the fact there are many Chinese scam out there. However I do not believe that all Chinese do scam. I am like anyone else here who only care about keyboard. there's a small additional PCB in this kbd, because the green,white need 2.9v each, and only 5v from ps2. every 2 leds was in series.

Awesome.  I was heavily into garage kit modeling, and one of the sellers of gk out of hong kong used those parties as well there.  Worked well for him to get together like minded people.  I guess they're kinda like mini cons.

Yeah, I've tried to get accustomed to different layout keyboards, and it just never works out for me.  I use too many different computers, and now that i have siigs for them now, I can't see using too many different ones.   I think the siig layout is absolute perfection.  The only one I make an exception for is my hacked hhk's which are similar enough.  lol

I had a side by side comparison in the other thread that used a standard picture of a Plum, comparing it to a siig, that one has modified key caps.  The backspace is the orange key.  The layout is just so messed up!!!

yes， I use a blue and an orange keycap to change the esc and edl.

I really like the colors and design of it. it looks so oldschool.

Yeah they could shrink the return key and add another row of switches in there, put an extended backspace in, if they got rid of the ~ in the main number row, and it might actually be useable.  But notice even the [] ;: and /? are all moved to the function keys!!! YOu have to press f12 if you want to ask a question!!!

It's like someone made it looking at a siig but got rid of all the best parts of the layout and went into outer space thinking of how to fix the problems of adding a number pad onto a siig.

My only thought is that this may have been a result of chip programing/matrix wiring problems.  I can't imagine a designer actually purposefully designing a keyboard like that, at least not one that spoke english, but then why isn't it a Chinese or Japanese board?

This might actually be the cause of this weird layout, if there was a Japanese version first.  I think the siigs layout came about because it was based on the Japanese version of the board(see my mini keyboard thread).  That's definitely where the blank key came from on it.  I wonder if this was a similar situation.

the small keycaps like a b c fits any cherry mx kbds like das plum flco tg3.

there isn't any sort of keycap market on ebay. it basically doesn't exist. they would be selling to a pretty small group of people....

then again, they could test the waters on some gamers who swear by their logitech gaming gear. I bet they could move aftermarket keycaps for high-end logitech keyboards. Make a few sets for the most popular games, maybe a generic FPS one... Use an expensive plastic which might reduce friction and "improve response time"; maybe modify the stem a tad bit and reduce travel "and increase precision". Something like that. Basically tell them it's a real gaming "upgrade". Make the caps colorful and flashy. Something like that will draw in the pubescent TF2 players, and they buy the ugliest ****. They also have their stepmother's mastercard, which is great for buying video game stuff. Using some selling points like that, they might be able to gain notoriety in the "check out my l33t logitech $200 frag-o-matic keyboard and mouse" crowd. There are quite a few of them.

You could be fluent in Japanese, and you still wouldn't be able to complete an order on Taobao.

Buying on Taobao through an agent is really easy and you need absolutely no understanding of Japanese or Chinese languages to do it:

1. Find a product on Taobao
2. Email or IM it to Obook (http://www.myobook.net/)
3. They email you the price w/shipping options and will set up and ebay auction so you can rate the transaction and have protection when paying with paypal.
4. Wait 3-10 weeks (or more).

That's how I buy puerh tea. Sorry for repeating this info in different threads, but I keep reading the same memes.

p.s. The anti-chinese rhetoric at the top of this thread is really ethnocentric, and I found it quite distasteful.

It‘s ok, the kbds are made in Taiwan, they might make some other kbds,
and the KBC kbd is coming out.
