Hello there!
I'm Rotwitt and I suppose I should tell you a little something about myself and why I joined GH.
I have been lurking your forums for quite a substantial amount of time, and I have finally decided to pull myself together and become an active member.
I have been owning a Razer Black Widow (Yes, i know...) for God knows how many years and I have now decided that it is time for change.
It is the only mechanical keyboard I can relate to and thus, I would like to reserve the right to say "Razer keyboards are simply the best hurr durr."
I started browsing GH, when I stumbled upon custom MKs, which is also where my main interest is.
I am currently studying to become an integrated design engineer, which more or less translate product development engineer. That might also explain that my main interest is in custom built keyboards, rather than caps. I hope to avoid wallethack, but we will see about that.
Oh, and I am currently working on my own keyboard, designed from scratch without any knowledge of how things work, so wish me luck with that. I guess I will be posting my current progress in the appropriate subforum.
Looking forward to become a part of GH! :)

u seem like a nice fella! :p
welcome from a fairly new member as well! :thumb:

oh herro
I think of keyboards like beer; you need to try the **** ones first because only then will you truly appreciate the finer ones.
Looking forward to seeing your custom designs!
P.S. no one is safe from wallethack

You are completely right. Let's just hope i haven't consumed too much Budweiser to be able to appreciate the taste of microbrew. That would be horrible.
And if wallethack is anything consuming alcohol in any way, I can safely say that I've already lost the battle. I hope to be posting a bit of progress of my project in a moment.
Cheers!

Welcome to Geekhack!
Some people have had no problems with BlackWidows, and some have had all sorts of problems. There's nothing wrong with being one of the lucky few, but really once you've tried a few other keyboards you may realise that they do have something over and above a BW.
A good place to start looking is in the making stuff together (https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=117.0) area, which you seem to have already found.
I hope you have more tears than blood on your keyboard! :)

Haha, I do enjoy wine occasionally. More of a red wine person. Don't know too much about it all though, not like beer ><

I hope to be able to contribute to development for those seeking help, the best way I can. I have a bit of experience with prototyping of various kinds, and a lot of knowledge of aluminium. Actually I had a half-year course revolving around aluminium, steel and glue entirely.
I'm still having nightmares about corrosion.
I might also be available for a little CAD work, if I have time to spare.
And don't worry, the keyboard is mainly powered by tears! :)

All of these requirements come up from time to time!
Keep watching the making stuff together section, and sooner or later you'll have plenty of opportunities to contribute :)
