Is the G80-2000HAD the only board that had this key?
Also, that key on the bottom right. What is its function? OTD RA has that key as an extra (as you know), and since its profile matches Delete/End, I figured it might be one of those. I didn't understand the significance or know the origin of that little star emblem until I saw pictures of the G80-2000HAD.

Me too - the pad print being slightly off colour always bothers me too much to actually use the windowed keysPad print is only really off colour on dark keycaps. On beige it looks just the same as doubleshot, so long as the key isn't very used.

From your GB experience is there a huge difference in cost between windowed + pad print and doubleshot?

I would imagine that windowed + pad print would be more, since the window is actually a second shot.
Look at the windowed lock keys of a G80-2100, or the win98 keys from a G80-5000 or G80-3000HRMUS. The legends are just as black and just as sharp as any doubleshot legend. You only see a difference in colour when it comes to darker keycaps like the Originative Dolch windowed lock keys. My windowed Cherry lock key definitely looks sharp with plenty of contrast, just like a doubleshot.
I personally don't like this doubleshot key shown in the OP because I really am not fond of the new Cherry logo. The old one is much nicer.
