UPDATE:

I have decided to go with GMK/Cherry profile.

MOQ will be 60/120 payed orders for the set which will include custom colors & legends.

It will be a single set/pack like Hyperfuse was.

Gray on blue for alphas & blue on black for mods.

Originative Co. will be the vendor.

This is still an IC so some things may or may not change.

Expand Keyboard & Co. SA below if you need a refresher on colors etc.

Keyboard & Co. SA:

Most people favored the black mods so gray caps are now an optional addon.
Some mock-ups have the wrong font on keys, the font used will be SP's standard Gorton Modified so you can ignore those.

Intro:

Hey gh, this is a set I've been working on for a awhile that I call Keyboard & Co.

The colors are based off the 05 Dunk SB collab release with Diamond Supply Co which most people may know as, Tiffany's".

At the moment the set is planned to be uniform SA row 3.

I'm thinking about having the base set be the alphas & obsidian mods + TKL since I like that look better & have the platinum keycaps be an add on if people want.

This is an interest check so I put them separate since you would have extra keys if you're a < TKL user & maybe people prefer alphas & mods separate etc, we'll see :)

I actually wanted a pair of those shoes since i first saw them and still would buy a pair but they're $$$$$ and i mess up shoes real quick. This will replace the need for the shoes as they will last forever!

I had this same thought.  Like the look of the set but wondering about those legends against BFQ.

Really like this shade of blue, I'm thinking about blue alpha + black front.

I tried that but I mainly went against using it since it made it look like a reverse Pulse set.

Tried it just now with mod font changed to GoB & one with gray font for all. Actually liking the gray font for all which could eliminate the need any gray add on packs.

[attachimg=1]

Looks nice, but hopefully the alpha legends wont be too faded.

Not sure if the color chip photos are accurate but the gray looks dark enough to be seen well on blue.

The colors in the mock-ups were just color codes from DT's wiki.

Might buy the color chips if I can't find anyone with them soon :thumb:

My vote is for grey too~ The renditions may look really light but it'll definitely be more deep and darker in real life ~

Honestly, the middle one with the darker legends is pretty damn nice.  Much as I like blue/gray combos, the 2nd one pops a bit more.

If what everyone is saying about the grey looking darker in real life then I think that would be the better color. Either way, count me in for a set!

Hmm yeah I can see why you might say that, reminds me more of DSA Quartz since there's no black & it's mostly gray with blue accents rather than mostly blue.

7bit's Round 4 Retro set used BFQ. You may want to check out pictures of that set on the DT wiki to see if it is really the color you want. I have the R4 set, and to me BFQ looks too washed out in real life. It may look better on a set like this though.

I never liked low SB. I've always liked the high-tops. I use to want these though. I like the idea, and I hope it takes off.

Good luck!

I remember hearing about this after posting my board with my tiff highs on reddit. I'm super hyped to see this coming along nicely. A swoosh would probably be asking too much for the novelty pack... but maybe a SB logo?

I like the color scheme but not a fan of "Brilliant" being the backspace and wondering why there is no Ctrl and Alt caps. I know there is another kit having Backspace but I can't justify buying another kit just for one key. Renders can go a long way though to generate some interest, I'm still undecided until I can see what it actually looks like. Best of luck :thumb:

Hey thanks :) I don't think I'll put any logos in it though, with JTK Sophomore I believe there was a problem with the Cola spacebar & same with the Out of the Vault GB that used, "logos".

Hey Steezus that's my bad :p awhile after I posted this I switched it to regular backspace & put that in novelties for anyone that wanted to make the set more Tiffany & Co. themed. Just haven't updated it yet since I wanna do that all at once when I see BFQ more. But for ctrl & alt I usually don't see them when there's meta & hyper etc which is why. Thanks :)

Nice job on the set, OP.  Just not for me - the Cash, Money, and Shine Novelties sum up my feelings  :p
Seeing quite a lot of sets in similar colour schemes like this lately so hopefully it doesn't affect sales/becoming a GB.

Haha yeah can't please everyone :p I'll have to look around for that though! All I've seen maybe use a color or 2 lightly but the only set remotely close I can think of is Pulse which wasn't lately ofc.

The color chips look good.  I'm curious about how the gray/blue combo will look with legends so I decided to use my incredibly poor Gimp skills to slap the two together, using one of the chip pics on here.  Here's the result.  Hint, there's some GTL gray on the BFQ chip.

Looks nice, a lot more elegant with BFQ than the black legend by it.

Oh f'sure on geekhack, if there's enough interest I can include r/mk as I don't frequent it.

Mostly go there just to see any good photos, techmattr's shots are hot hot hot.

Not really, camper makes some quality renders if you were referring to those tho

It's nice to have but many great keysets have run without them.

I'd like use my extra cash to make gifts & such for friends rather than make my IC flashier.

So FLFisherman convinced me to get some renders made, what a buster :))

2 quick questions before I do:

- Should it be a TKL render? 60% is my jam & all I have but TKL might show off the set better.

- Would you rather have a base set of alphas + black mods with gray as optional kits or have the base be alphas with an option to go black or gray kind of like Deep Space with purple or blue kits? Maybe even scrap most of the the gray mods & just have a gray color pack for certain keys? Like enter & F1-4 + F9-12 etc.

Hey, it's just good business. I'll even make a little donation to help pay for that service.  :thumb:

I think you should go with a TKL render. You're absolutely right, it would show off the set better.

I personally like the black mods more than gray, but that's up to you or the rest of the interested parties. Beyond that I don't think you should change it too much, since people have shown interest in what you've already got.

I think the grey option kit might be a good idea. The sticker shock for 2 seperate mod packs at low MOQ can kill a set, and by just having one base set with slight additions makes the whole keyset more cohesive.

I think the grey option kit might be a good idea. The sticker shock for 2 seperate mod packs at low MOQ can kill a set, and by just having one base set with slight additions makes the whole keyset more cohesive.

I was thinking that doing that might lower the price overall rather than buying alphas, mods & TKL kit too but I'm not sure.

I'll go that way since so far everyone's been for black mods.

The kits I have in mind now are the base(covers a standard TKL board), Tsangan, ISO, numpad, novelties & gray accent kit.

I personally love the diamonds and such, I might just take out some of the extra ones and combine them with the grey accent pack.

My 2¢ on the novelties, I'm not a huge fan of the fire but the diamonds are pretty sweet! I really like having the CASH and MONEY keys but I don't really understand the purpose of EXIT and dive care too much for the SHINE.

I love all the novelties, but I'm a total sucker for that, and I do understand that it brings the cost up. IMO go for as many as you feel you semi-realistically can.

Exit was kinda for like an exit sign of a store haha I scrapped it already, Shine was for shine like a diamond & that I like Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Definitely! Already added in the updated mockup which hasn't been uploaded :thumb:

Definitely sneaker culture inspired :D (fire emoji)

It's a shame SB stopped releasing decent stuff IMO, trainers have been looking very strong tho. Acquired some Coil R1's recently but ROOS are super uncommon in the states so I won't be getting more anytime soon :))

Yeah, I've decided to make gray caps a separate kit if since most if not everyone has favored black mods.

Doing so might just scrap the gray novelties which should help reduce space to add apolotary's smug emoji etc.

Interested, but I prefer standard modifier names and not Hyper, Meta, etc.

Hey xondat, I've actually changed them already. Just waiting on camper to work his magic before I update mockups :thumb:

Control, Super, Alt, Space, Alt, Super, Meta, Control is currently the setup for a standard bottom row.

I tought this as well, but the lighting might just blocking a bit on the renders, possible in real life the contrast could be more visible? Looking at the color chips side by side they seem to contrast pretty well.

Also a bit off a personal opinion, but since this is in IC phase i'll just trow it out there:

Why not have a last keys of the alphas rows (last 2 keys on row 3, last 2 keys on row 4, and last 2 keys on row 5) be the symetrical color of the alphas? or maybe include these keys also in the color splash kit with the black on grey colors?

Love the pack execution, novelties, everything. Straight fire. One thing you might want to add are black spacebars. And maybe put the iso and numpad splashes in a different kit? Like add the grey mods by default to numpad and both iso enters/blanks to an iso kit.

Sorry pes, I'm not quite sure what you're trying to get at ^-^

Are you talking about adding blue mods?

Love the pack execution, novelties, everything. Straight fire. One thing you might want to add are black spacebars. And maybe put the iso and numpad splashes in a different kit? Like add the grey mods by default to numpad and both iso enters/blanks to an iso kit.

Thanks thanks, yeah totally gonna have a lil spacebar section like most buys have.

Yeah that makes perfect sense tho, not a lot of people use numpads(from what I see anyway).

Can combine the gray ISO enter with the black ISO enter & short shift into an ISO kit as well :thumb:

That should definitely reduce the amount of people having keycaps they won't use :)

The renders look amazing! Also, I second darkening the legends on the alphas to match with the darker mods. I think it would make it all pop a little bit better.

True, it would definitely have more contrast but I feel like it would stray a bit too far from the silver, "swoosh" since that's the closest color to silver SP has.

The renders are a bit brighter than the chip photos & I'd agree with pes that they'd look more visible IRL.

Kind of like the yellow caps from CMYW, white on yellow is f'sure not contrasty(is that a word?) :)) but you can still see them fine in person.

Plus there's already a lot of high contrast keysets right? :p

Making ISO a separate kit, listing spacebars for addon & moving the gray numpad to the numpad kit.

This was actually posted before Flatline if that's what you meant :)
I'm busy working on sleeves & want to see how Flatline + that other set roll out.
Don't wanna make you have to choose between 2 sets either since the majority can't buy 2 SA sets at once :p
I also read that SA is a no go for new sets until April & this would fall in that category since I haven't contacted SP yet.

Very stoked that you're interested in my set tho! ^-^ :-*

I like GMK but Sifo's direction with SA is the right way IMO.

It looks like Massdrop will be the only option to go with price-wise, which I don't mind.

I don't mind going with Massdrop either, or a PMK gb (they use nice boxes!) if anything you have a little extra assurance and you have someone to turn to if you get damaged or missing keys.

In my experience and what I've seen, it seems like PMK/SP has better shipping. MD shipping has been questionable. And I'm not just saying that because of TA. I've had other stuff from MD come in bad packaging.

I'd really like to see this set be on my board but I'm conflicted with the info we got from Flatline :(

PMK means getting the sets straight from SP.  MassDrop means going through their distribution warehouse.  On the plus side, MassDrop does bring in a larger number of potential customers which may be helpful in bringing down kit costs.

Massdrop could potentially negotiate a lower cost than SP would give us running through PMK purely due to the number of large orders that they place with them.

Yeah, I'm with you there on Massdrop's shipping.
I bought a TEX acrylic from them and it was just the case in a box with less than par packing material.
Same with some mods, just in a bag with little cushion in a box.

That info really set up a road block for SA sets atm tho :(

Shipping aside, Massdrop is very tempting with the talk of it being the lowest price.
I wanna choose the path that saves everyone the most money unless there's other concerns, besides shipping.
If there's any damaged keys I'm sure they can get replacements quickly.

Yup, and this is the source of their occasional sales where they sell off stuff that's left over.

From what I've seen of Massdrop issue replacements it seems like that was mostly due to the TA fiasco. I haven't heard of people complaining about MD shipping SP sets. On top of that, SP themselves just bag up the sets and ship them out, which is what MD does for the SP sets too.

I believe that's the case.  They'll then sell the leftovers off at some later date when they do their warehouse clean-up sales on the site.  They did one not all that long ago.

Yup, those polls are hit or miss with them.

@switchnollie: There's a support link where you can contact them as a vendor.  I believe you can use that for getting in direct contact with them to set the buy up, directing them to this discussion as the interest check in lieu of a MassDrop poll.  From what I recall, thesiscamper went this route with Troubled Minds.

SA situation is completely excluded when dealing with massdrop as far as I can tell.

Yeah I think that's true, I saw from lsb that Massdrop is logged with keysets for a long time right now tho.

I'll wait around a bit more since I still need to update the ISO kit & then some.

Once you get the kits figured out you should contact Massdrop to get this one going. The longer it has to wait, the more sets will get in front of it.

Small update with kits :thumb:

Moved big enters to a separate ISO kit.

Moved the gray numpad addons from the splash kit to numpad kit so < tenkey users don't end up with useless caps if they splash up.

I plan to include spacebars(7U & 6U in NN & BFQ?) as well but you all know what those look like already.

Hey William, no one here's ask for it but I plan to include the kits if it goes into a buy :thumb:

Ergodox's & Plancks are on the rise especially with the recent buys on Massdrop.
Uniform keycaps look/work the best on them IMO.
DSA blanks, Granite & 1976 to name a few so it would be a great idea to include them :)

Hell yeah!  I love seeing dox addon kits even if they're blank legends - though I naturally prefer printed.  I dig the SA profile on the dox I'd buy one for sure.

Oh **i* it out? Damn I just checked it about 2-3 days ago n he said that'd be sth amazing. I thought he meant a mix set or sth due to the conversations.

So that's really old school style.

I think I'll just stick to this one bc there're many people want to pay what ever it cost to piss MiTo then :))

Not since the 8th, on the 4th saying they'd ask the buying team.

On the 8th I just got a msg saying the support staff will review something.
Not sure what since I got 2 in a row without sending them anything else.

Will put up Planck & ErgoDox kit mockups sometime as well as spacebars tho :thumb:

It's not too late :) just another 2.25 left shift basically?

Also, I have 0 experience with the Planck & ErgoDox :p
Would something like the Granite Ergo kit be good?
Or blanks, I'll have to look around for a Planck kit tho too.
That is if I do add it, I think it's a good idea but only 1 or 2 ppl have brought it up.

Hey all, instead of Massdrop how would you feel if I did something similar to ghostjuggernaut's CMYK buy with the standalone site?

Lower scale & less kits maybe like Hack'd.

Will get some more info for any questions you might have since this was brought up only yesterday.

This is not final, just an idea I liked since it would just most likely just be the homies here that helped the set progress & give feedback.
The only things that are set atm is the ABS colors & SA R3, if the gray on blue isn't enough contrast there's plenty of great high contrast sets already/in the works.

Also, the poll I made on Md has reached 200 votes, not sure what happens next.

This would be on my own, gathering payments & sending money to SP for the order.
It would be more organized than just making a google form.
I could look into getting help from other(s) that have done this before tho.

Could you tell me what exactly you mean by fulfillment?

I'd be alright with a standalone GB, but the guys at SP have pretty much said they only want to deal with companies like Massdrop. Not sure what really became of that though.

As for what next, you might want to contact the guys at Massdrop? There's a guy Alex something that has an account on here and reddit iirc. Also, just because it's at 200 votes doesn't guarantee that it will drop.

For MassDrop, it might be pertinent to contact some of them as they're online here at GH.  At least, I've seen Yanbo mention as much in another IC thread.

Did they? :( bummer, thought that was just about lower pricing or deals.

I'll contact Yanbo again soon, he was the one that told me I should start a poll in the first place :thumb:

I meant are you sorting/packaging/shipping, do you have a team, etc.

Ohh, yes I would be doing all of it.
I've been running a lil clothing shop on the side for 4+ years with no outstanding orders so I believe I'm capable.

If what UsualSuspect said is true about SP & Massdrop/companies then the idea of the standalone buy is not likely anymore.
Or if it becomes like $200 a set, IMO less people would be in this than Flatline & those prices were looking pretty steep

If you do the standalone the prices would be even higher than what we saw for Flatline due to the custom legends (which Flatline did not have).

If I understood everything correctly, standalone GB's can still happen but they would much prefer to deal with larger entities, and thus more likely to give a larger discount to them. I believe they said that it would be good to have a single person at GH that would contact them on our behalf (which is not likely to happen) so they can track the total volume that we purchase to calculate discounts.

Since GB's like these are very small production runs compared to what we usually see at MD, the price will inherently be higher =/

Thanks for informing me on the situation.

Well I just wanted to bring this idea up.
I guess there's no getting around the price for a standalone :(
Maybe some new outlets to run buys will appear too like Zeal with Skidata.

I think that is definitely a possibililty. Same thing with Originative too. Regardless of the outlet, there will still be a pretty long wait for SA sets though =[

This is beautiful! Would it at all be possible to add 3 1U blanks (or 6 if your want both colors), one for each row 2-4 to (preferably) the oddballs/Tsangan or the Flex kit? I'm not really sure how much it would add to the cost of the set, but I could see it adding a lot more flexibility for some users, particularly those with small/unusual layouts (White Fox, Smart 68, Filco Manilla, etc).

In terms of mass orders and experience with SP, skullydazed has to be the best right now.

Hey timerwin, I missed this last time.

I'm sure adding blanks as separate standalone options would be doable like what Deep Space & Sa Retro did :thumb:

I'm interested in this TIFFANY keycap set. I hope this hasn't already been aksed. If so, my apologies, I saw what you listed about TKL & 60% board options, do you have plans for a ergo dox and planck key cap set?

Hey William, no one here's ask for it but I plan to include the kits if it goes into a buy :thumb:

Ergodox's & Plancks are on the rise especially with the recent buys on Massdrop.
Uniform keycaps look/work the best on them IMO.
DSA blanks, Granite & 1976 to name a few so it would be a great idea to include them :)

In endorse this sentiment.  You can't really get planck on keysets after the GB, I've found.  They sell out. :(

Back with an update.

The set will most likely be running through originative co. in the future :)

I'll contact Massdrop about removing the poll so there's no confusion.

The colors are set but I have been thinking about profile during this time.
I personally prefer DSA & Cherry over SA although I love the SA look.
Maybe a poll will be needed

Feel free to post thoughts on profile.

I've honestly yet to try DSA but will be receiving a set come August so it will be interesting to see how I like them.  DSA sets seem to have picked up some steam given the overabundance of SA sets for SP to work through.

DCS could work as well.

I think it'd be awesome to have this in Cherry produced by GMK or JTK. SA would also be okay, as I need to pick up something in the profile one of these days. I wouldn't much be interested in DSA, though, I don't think.

JTK is out.  They're still working on the sophomore run, IIRC, and there's additional runs already planned beyond that.  For GMK, you'd need to either change the blue to more of a cyan color or bump the MoQ to 500 for a custom color.

Here's the color options from GTK.

I thought Sophomore was in its final production phase and wasn't aware JTK had anything planned after it was finished. I also know the restrictions we'd have going GMK. I was just stating what I felt would be ideal.

GMK do supposedly make exceptions to their 500 MOQ for custom colors, as GMK Carbon is supposed to have a 150 MOQ for only ~$150 a set. Carbon seems to be special though, as they're also supposed to make molds for novelties (which I don't think they've done before). (Forgot about Breaking Bad.

The weight of DSA is nice, but the quality of the actual caps compared to SA is pretty awful. The look of SA seems fairly unrivaled for a set like this, would prefer SA if voting.

At least from what I recall in threads elsewhere, Manly Unicorn was trying to go JTK and was slated as something like JTK's 5th or  6th run so there seems to be more that's planned.  Maybe I'm not remembering that correctly, though.  It's been a while.

This, I've seen some things about it but haven't been following GMK Carbon.
Carbon is using custom colors now?
GMK doing novelties is game changer too

I do think JTK is very busy atm tho so I would aim for GMK if Cherry, that & Sherry has experience with them.

No doubt, glossy SA fits perfectly with the Jewelry theme ^-^

I'm not picky when it comes to caps so I would like to go with the majority.
Hopefully it's DSA or R3 SA for looks tho :p

I haven't shared the set on r/mk so there might even be a big lot that want SA or even DSA.

Not likely going to happen.
If I did that, the set may just look like a reverse Flatline at first glance.

Plus if I take out the gray then there's nothing representing the silver swoosh

Thank you :)

That could be possible, I think you're the first person to bring up sculpted.
I just prefer uniform R3 because it reminds me of DSA :p

If sculpted it would probably be 1-1-2-3-4-3(or 4)?
I think that's the proper sculpt.

Voted as well. I'm all for sculptured SA (even though I personally prefer Cherry), as I think DSA looks nice, but the uniform layout is dreadful to actually use. I'd hate for such an attractive set to either go in a box or on a shelf.

I would prefer uniform SA because it actually feels nicer and different than DSA (even though it's similar in concept but SA is heavier and thicker).

On top of it uniform SA is also less common too.

However I can see why people would prefer GMK.  I guess I can save money if this end up being GMK.  :P

It will be one big kit like Hyperfuse so it'll have you covered except for the 6U HHKB space.
If you have an MX HHKB layout with 7U you're covered :thumb:

True :)

SA is very saturated right now, could possibly go back to that if this goes well & an R2 is wanted in the future.

Also, when I said custom legends I just meant novelties.
In case anyone thinks I was going to try non Cherry fonts :p

Yeah it's a double whammy right now.  SA is saturated and MD is even more saturated with Rebel getting info on their drop not likely to even happen this year and Dasher/Dancer being told late 2016 despite coordination back in... April, I think.

Going GMK isn't a bad choice right now.  Honestly, though, the colors scream for a spherical profile of some kind for me.

Possible included keycaps atm.
Extra shift for 660, 1800 keys & some ISO.
Trying to not make keycap count too high which is why there's only some ISO.

Please disregard kle fonts & drawn symbols & pretend they're Cherry fonts lol.

Colors may be slightly off as well since this was just a quick mock up & just needed close enough shades.

Just black, it was favored over gray during the IC & since we're doing GMK instead of SP, making a separate gray kit isn't as good an idea.
Wouldn't want to add it to the main set because it would just up costs.

Maybe a color kit could happen in the future like with Sky Dolch but there's just the few gray accents for now.

Wouldn't want to add it to the main set because it would just up costs.

Maybe a color kit could happen in the future like with Sky Dolch but there's just the few gray accents for now.

HHKB kit or bust!  :p

I'll think about it :))

That would be what, like the 1.5 backspace & 2 keys on the top right?
Yeah 1u backslash and 1.5 backspace... I'm not sure what the standard other 1u is for backspace, I usually end up putting tilde or delete there.

The colorway isn't bad really but wasn't particularly drawing me in.  With orange, I more want an orange cap and white alphas so I'll definitely be picking up Rebel.  I'm going after more the brightly colored colorways like this, Skeletor, Dasher/Dancer, and Rebel.

In GMK TA and Carbon, the colors are customlized .
Intelli 78 find a original TA keycap to negotiate with GMK to fix the exact and correct color (it will be found in pantone 146 in color card)used in GMK TA production.
Tombery would mail a original SP carbon to GMK to fix  the right and precise orange used in GMK carbon production.
the question is that how you would find a tiffany green key in reality to negotiate with GMK to pick the exact color for GMK tiffany green(GMK keyboard. co) production? find the right color on pantone color card?

May be 3533C in pantone color card is tiffany green , which is you meant to do in this GB?

Hey shower_king, back with answers quicker than I thought :)

Blue: PMS 98-2012

Gray: Cool Gray 4 U

Black: CR(GMK's black)

Also for the others here, in the event where the novelties must be removed due to cost.
Would you rather have, "CODE" replace the diamond winkeys(1.25U & 1U) or this diamond replace it?

Frankly speaking, i show no special preference for CODE or diamond. The two are both OK for me.
The diamond is more compatible with your theme of this set. i will choose diamond for this set.
i looked this blue carefully and though it is a bit darker and a less green than i expect. However, i follow your choose color because i think you know exactly which blue is more approximate to your theme and original color

Changes:

- Took out novelties due to cost issues.

- Added R3 Pg Up & R4 Pg Dn for 75% boards.

- Diamond Win keys are now Code.

Still need time to pick the right pantone for blue & maybe change gray :thumb:

A row3, 1.75u control key is missing, if the set would support the HHKB layout, considering that it already has the 1.5u row 2 backspace. Also you would consider to make the legends a bit darker, if they are suppose to be readable, at least in the mockup it looks pretty much unreadable.

I'd prefer the diamond, but I know there are people that prefer the code legend, the diamond being an icon is more layout neutral.

Digging around on Tiffany blue, one thought did occur.  It's a color only protected under trademark.  IIRC, trademarks are only valid within the given industry of the trademark owner.  Tiffany does make it difficult to obtain, however.

That said, the color info for Tiffany blue is:
Hex#: 81D8D0
RGB: 129.216.208
CMYK: 46.0.56.0
Pantone 1837

Might play with this site a bit: http://rgb.to/hex/81d8d0

Seems like it gives some options as Pantone 1837 is a private Pantone code.  7472 C doesn't look too bad at an initial glance.

Quick little update, will be using a greener color to match the Tiff box more instead of the shoe.
Most of the blue pantones that were even a bit close to what I want just looked washed out or like faded versions of the blues GMK already has.
May be close to what Nio linked, 7471 U is top choice right now.
This should solve the low contrast issue as well for ppl that thought that was an issue :thumb:

idueus makes a good point about the diamond being more layout neutral so I'm using that instead of code.
That & it's not seen as much as the code key so it's a bit fresher.

Also shower_king, if you could let me know where you heard about 6U molds that would be great.
I asked Sherry & he hasn't heard of new molds.

Thanks :)

Also shower_king, if you could let me know where you heard about 6U molds that would be great.
I asked Sherry & he hasn't heard of new molds.

Thanks :)

7471 U is pretty nice.  It does look a bit more green.  I'll be curious to see a mockup with the blue and gray together to see how the contrast goes.

I hope this comment may be a bit naïve; but, why not just contact GMK and ask them if the mold for 6u space bar is available?

Sort of a beginner when it comes to less common layouts.
Is 6U used often?

Also, updated render.

I used the pantone's hex code in Keyboard Layout Editor to get the color except for CR where I just used black.
Can try to make the colors look like the pantone on screen tmrw if wanted.

It's not a common thing but certain 1800 layouts, certain 65/75% and topre layouts use them, though they can't be used with novatouch boards because of the off-center stem.

agree, this set acommodate 1800 well. if add 6U ,better, if not ,i could live without 6U. From my pointview , 6U is a new mould which will inject something new into this set just like 1.25×diamond in R4. Because the moulds for these new keycaps have been created recently and we who participate in this GB will not share the cost for creating mould.
estimate time of this GB is early or middle or late August? How long will this GB last ? a fortnight or one month?
Title: Re: [IC] Keyboard & Co. GMK (Formerly SA)

The only mold for diamond legends that has been confirmed is for 1.25u row B, you should check if it is available for 1u row B and row A, it would be great if they are; but, each one is a different mold, the legend is like an skeleton of the key cap in the proper profile and size with the protruding legends at its top. Also, if they were available for 1.5u in row A or B would be great, because that could make the support for the HHKB layout even better and more accurate.

Hey, I'm adding 6U in blue :thumb:

Not quite sure, just August.
Will probably be as long as Skeletor which is about a month, it will be ran through Originative Co.
I just know that this will not start until Skeletor is over.

I'll try to follow up on this soon.

The GMK diamonds being only 1.25 so far totally passed by me.
Thanks for pointing that out :)

Picked a top 6 Pantones for Blue & Gray.

I'm feeling 9480 U for Blue & Cool Gray 1 XGC for Gray, that is if you go by Pantone instead of HEX.
Screen captures are from the Pantone site & Keyboard Layout Editor.
RGB, Pantone name & HEX code are in the keycaps from top to bottom.

7471 U and Cool Gray 4 U would make the alpha more contrast, hence easier to read.

edit. Also it looks more similar to the Tiffany blue.

Add a screen shot from the Tiffany web site.

Thought it was weird since it's not number like, like 7471 U :p

Did my best to color match the keys to the Pantone image since IRL it probably will look like that more than HEX.

The mods of this set will look awesome with OG Cherry WoB alphas, it has the new diamond 1.25u modifiers, it comes with a 6u space bar, probably the first key set that will take advantage of that mold, wonderful. Ah, also, it may not run on MD, that is an advantage for those of us that lives in countries not covered by MD shipping, like me.

The legends will be standard Cherry ones, GMK charges a lot of money to develop double shot legends like those in the mock-ups for a full keyboard set. The OP should better redraw it with the proper legends to not confuse people.

Confirmed not MD :thumb:

If I really have to I may redo it.

Most users should know how GMK caps will end up looking like font-wise tho.

It's stated in OP that it's Cherry fonts & there will be a GMK render when the buy actually starts.
I didn't think anyone would like the silly legends :p

I didn't know there are problems with MD outside of the US. I live in the UK and I've been using MD for a couple years, never had order go missing. A friend of mine who lives in Germany also uses MD. Are there areas of the world where MD doesn't send parcels to?

Yes, there are some countries they do not ship to; they did that initially, then, they decided to stop shipping to MX for example. I can use a proxy or even ask the parcel to be shipped to my US address but I just want the things to be shipped where I live.

Are the legends more readable irl? Those hurt my eyes on my monitor. :(

The unreadable legends is the thing that makes me hesitate to join in; otherwise, the set is one of the most comprehensive ones GMK has ever made.

I can't read the alpha legends really.

The full sized render gives a better indication, the compression was crushing the alphas. It still doesn't have the highest contrast but I don't think it'll be an issue when the set's in your hands :thumb:

+ the renders have GMK's artificial lighting added on top

Congrats Switch!
Congrats on the successful IC, can't wait to see this set in person!
Chances are that I can't afford this set, but god damn it looks beautiful! Best of luck to you on this buy! Anyone who picks this one up will be the object of my envy :-X.
I'm in! The set turned out better than I could have hoped for. Let's start hitting those moqs now!
I'm in, thanks for making this happen  :-*
Is there a maximum order cut-off? I can only buy in closer to the end of the month :(

Thanks :-* :)

They should be.
Would be kinda odd if it was less readable than on screen.
Deep Space for example is a low contrast set, hard to see legends occasionally in pictures but is very easy to read in person.
Debatable tho

GMK's render is not color accurate like usual which makes it super unreadble tho.
Even I would not be OK with the set using those colors haha.

I know the pmk color chips aren't the same exact colors, but here is a rough guess of what the grey on tiffanys blue alphas could kinda look like (bottom chip) and it looks legible to me!
