Hey all!  Melvang and I are checking to see if anyone would be interested in our smoked Italian three cheese blend.  Melvang will be checking into shipping tomorrow, sorry US shipping only.  Packaging will include being shipped frozen with a few paper towels for insulation in bubble mailers over night.

I would love to do this, but I will be out of the country Jan 23 to July 10.  What is your projected timeframe?  Are you the Significant Other of Melvang?  If so, how do you withstand his awesomeness on a daily basis?

Since this is such a long time out of country, I will make an exception.  Cost will be $5 + shipping + PayPal fees.  These will ship via overnight in a bubble mailer.  I will be checking with the post office tomorrow on actual shipping costs and will pm you tomorrow if that is cool.  Actual quantity is 1/3 cup of a roughly even blend of parmesan, reggiano, and Romano, all were smoked, grated, and mixed by me.  This is not my personal cheese, I buy the cheese and run it through my smoker.

For the rest of you guys, should I be making a Google docs form?

And is this pricing/volume acceptable for you guys?  These cheeses keep for a long time.  I have had baggies of it in the fridge for 6+ months and not go bad.  Due to the low moisture content, it has a long shelf life, and the smoking process just extended it.

Yes, very much so.  This isn't something that one just eats.  But use it in cooking for a different twist on old favorites.  I use it in about everything, from personal custom dishes to frozen pizza to scrambled eggs.

I'm both lactose intolerant, and don't like cheese in general...but the smoked cheese Melvang makes is an experience all it's own. Believe me when I say you won't regret grabbing some. These two know what they're doing!

I was actually really interested in this because it was an IC for actual cheese rather than a cheese shaped keycap, but you just increased my wants more by saying even though you're lactose (same :C) it's worth the pick up. I'm gonna have to keep an eye out haha

Good ones. I might suggest you go for long seasoned Parmigiano Reggiano. 36 months would be the best.

That is the kind of reggiano, but not near aged that long,  I checked the package this morning and it says "aged over 8 months".  Sorry, I just get what is on the shelf at the local grocery store.

I like cheese.

I have already mailed some to CA.  I can post a quote from his response.  This stuff is amazing.  I do have a meat and cheese smoking guide posted in off topic.  I can link that here if you want.

Alright guys, I will start an official group buy thread.  This will be very quick GB.  To the order of being mailed out early next week.  Think of it as one of BunnyLakes flash group buys on meth.

I will start an official GB thread, create a google docs form.  I can't say for sure that I will be able to mail this outside of the US, but in case I can, who would be willing to proxy for at least Canada, probably UK (seeing some interest from a few people there), possibly EU, and maybe the Pacific Islands regions.

Ok, I was at the post office today, and I can ship overnight to the vast majority of cities (I got the impression that the only places not available for that is small cities a good distance from a sorting center) for $20, priority mail is about $6 or so for a bubble mailer if I recall correctly.  I can double check this tomorrow if you guys want.

For international, I don't think it would be worth it due to shipping costs guys.  The 1/3 cup portion I had at the post office today was quoted at $38 and change for the quickest shipping to Canada and that was 3-5 days. So, if someone wants to proxy up there, I can do it, but shipping will be expensive.
