Finally my very own hhk2 Japanese blue alps keyboard!!! This is something I've always wanted.  The ultimate keyboard!!!!

Still needs some work, but as of now it's fully functional. My intention is to cut all the keys apart and make them open to make them super light and glue the Japanese kana keys from the hhk2 Japanese layout onto these old yellowed keys.  I had intended to dye them, but decided to use them to make this board instead.  I used the non yellowed keys from the dc-2104 for my wireless hack.

It took me a ton of time to cut all the extra holes for all the extra Japanese keys in the bottom where the spacebar was in the dc-2104 holder, but it finally paid off.

Like every time I try to modify the original article in one of these mod threads it gets a double post.  Don't get it.

I changed the title again, it resulted in another database error thread.  Am I doing something wrong?

Nice mod. I like the rugged/worn look it has.

How did the wiring go?

lol  Well the worn look isn't intentional.  It's from having to cut the hell out of the metal sheeting with a metal shear and speedwheels.  I plan to eventually  repaint it and come up with some sort of upper case, maybe out of wood or something.   I'm just happy to have it fully functional right now.  If you mean the keys? They'll all be hacked apart and you won't see them either.  The hhk2 donor keytops are in pretty good shape.

The wiring was relatively simple compared to the igo I rewired before.  The matrix of the hhk2 is pretty simply layed out.   I had some problems interfacing with the board as the contact areas were so small. Overall it was very simple. It only took me a couple days to do, and only cost me about $100 in donor keyboards.

I thought I had the name of the Leading edge board wrong when I first posted this thread.  It is a dc-2014, not 2104.  I changed it, and this created another thread error, so I don't want to change it back. lol
