Is there any other way to get these besides having a donor board?
Seems wasteful and expensive to change a 107u into a variable weight mess.
-
The domes are what weight the board, not the conical springs.
and AFAIK there is no way to get them without using a donor board.

Is the resale value of the 107u switched to variable weight worth it too offset the cost of the mod?
Debating whether or not to grab a realforce.

You wanted to mod what board with 55g? And the market value for a donor board is between 160-180$ and if you try to mod hhkb my advice is just leave the board alone cause 55g hhkb sux ass hahah.

You can post in the "How much is X worth?" thread or look through past classifieds/ eBay auctions to decide if you think it's worth it.

There is no 107U. There's the 104U, 106U, and 108U. Either way, variable weighted boards seem to be prevalent, so I'm not sure the resale value would be high. In my opinion, rare uniform weighted boards are likely to have the highest resale value(eg. 104U uniform 45g).

Oops sorry I put the wrong keyboard. Thanks for the info. I have a bunch of money for my keyboards and not sure what to do with them.

if you get an hhkb and 23u you can transplant the 45gs in there to 55gs with the 87u perfectly.
Don't listen to the others, 55g hhkb is awesome.
-
Oh you can sell donor boards? I have 4 I need to get rid off lol.
I agree with slickmamba, give 55g a go if you can. You can always revert it back to original.

My plan was to get a custom cut Ti top plate, novatouch stems, steel plate and 55g. The 45g is a little to light and doesn't spring back fast enough for me.
My hope is that I'm end game from there. But maybe not...

I'm at the point where my boards are crowding the front of my Acer x34.
