Anyways, it isn't mechanical, so I'm not sure why they're claiming it to be. It's a rubber dome, which makes given that mechanical switches aren't waterproof AFAIK.

Also, backlit but not the keys.. kind of odd.

Industrial/commercial applications for example in a food service environment where the person taking an order may have been cleaning and have wet hands. For those inclined to drink at their battle station. This has happened to me twice my fault for drinking at keyboard but still there is an application.

What about a kiosk which provides communal internet? Like the unsupervised ones in shopping centres?
