Hi Im wondering if anyone here makes Mechanical keys to be used on a keyboard for Ableton and can point me in the right direction??
-
Keys themselves are not mechanical, that board is membrane so there really is no option for custom keys to be made especially because a mold would have to be created.

It must have been done before I'd think. The stickers and skins you can get are garbage. They wouldnt need to be 3D or anything.

I can guarantee that nobody has done it here before. It's a membrane keyboard, not mechanical, so most people likely won't be bothered with it. 3D printed caps aren't generally the best since the material can tend to get brittle and break rather than injection molding.

Do you mean like a custom set of keycaps as an alternative to the stickers and covers?

If you have a board with Cherry MX switches, you can create a custom set of keycaps with whatever colors and legends you want here: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/products/keycap-set/104-key-cherry-mx-keycap-set.html They have templates to start you off.

Yeah that could work thanks, trying to make it unique its going to be a gift

Albeton won't be mechanical though, you will need a Cherry MX-like board for it to work.

I don't think he understands as he's asking for "mechanical keys"
