Title: AEK II with Russian Cyrillic Apple Alps keycaps, ISO layout
Post by: jacobolus on Wed, 20 January 2016, 17:23:00
http://www.ebay.com/itm/262250443607

Seems to be in decent shape, but it’s hard to know what condition the switches are in.

Note that AEK IIs have a slightly funky ISO layout with slightly wide leftmost column / narrow rightmost column, so those left/right side keycaps won’t fit on modern “standard” ISO boards.

Nice find  :D Never seen an AEK with Russian Cyrillic before. I might try to win it.

Okay, what?! Haven’t ever seen this before:

Had to buy that one, we’ll see if it’s as fun as it looks. Apparently labels are an old Chinese phonetic system. Probably a Taiwanese keyboard?

They appear to be 3-color dyesubs. That would be fun.

They certainly look shined, ie texture has been smoothed over years and years, but still, finding an AEK II like this outside of Taiwan is no common feat! Congrats, man.

Nah, that’s just ****ty lighting.

Have you seen another with these keycaps before?

Does anyone have any larger list (with pictures?) of AEK II keycap designs?

Whoops. I derped with the quote!

I haven't seen any like these, though I have seen other dyesubbed legends on the AEK and AEK II boards, notably Bulgarian Cyrillic and Hebrew.

I'm sure these can't be the ONLY ones of their kind, but rest assured that you likely won't see another one of these unless you dig really hard for one! You've definitely got something pretty unique. :3

Yeah, sorry if I didn’t make that clear from the start. As I said, the eBay seller is clueless. :-)
